Thanks! Yeah I had read this, but was confused on the year based on the serial number provided, the format doesn't match up with anything in there, unless I can't figure out how to read a S/N, which who knows, could be.

Yes I saw and I do not know why your serial number does not give you the year! I hope someone on the forum will have the answer.

  2. Congratulations for these beautiful Khorn, they are beautiful in this livery

If I had to clean these Khorn, I'd already dust off with a vacuum cleaner and pay attention to the speakers. First gently sand with iron wool grade 0000, again suck the dust. Then I will try to feed the wood with linseed oil, do not put a lot of oil, then wipe the oil that does not penetrate the wood with a soft cloth.

For fabric covers if they can disassemble and there is no speaker behind, you can try gently with a small steam cleaner!

    Good restoration :)

I wonder if someone across the channel in Cornwall has Cornwalls ? :o

    Thank dtel  :)

  4. Hello ! after almost two years of happiness, some news from my Cornwall III. I really liked Amy's project :  https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/150513-custom-plaques-for-heritage-speakers/

But as I am far from the US I have made here in France, by a craftsman my plates of Heritage. I think Klipsch will not mind if I did not go through them for manufacturing because it was complicated because of the distance and because Amy does not work at home anymore, so I did not have the new one contact.

Then, for the position on the cabinet, I hesitated a long time and then I chose this place discreet because invisible, when the fabric cover is in place and high enough so that one can read the text without lying down On the ground.

    Do you like that?

  5. Hello ! Ro60, I'm really sorry about what's happening to you. Fortunately Klipsch is a serious undertaking and she will repair your pair of Forte III and especially try to understand what is this problem of collage !!!

My Cornwall III arrived from Germany in summer 2016 in a truck on a pallet and transport was impeccable, the speakers were in perfect condition. However I do not remember if there was a small bag of silicate in the package.

Your tape recorders are superb, I myself have a Tascam 34 and a Revox B77 MKII full track master in 38cm/s: splendid

no, not at all.  at least to my ears and on my equipment.  my MX-113's treble pot sits right at zero for most recordings.  sometimes i bump it up a touch, but it's never set below zero.

I do exactly the same thing with my C504  ;)

I am not the first,  maybe the first you have heard of, it is not the room, i have many other speakers none others do this.

It is the speaker, the tweeter was about 5db louder and I have fixed it.

You put resistors in L pad on the tweeter, as we talked about on the other post?

If you only add one resistor for attenuation you will disrupt the X-over network. The X-over is designed to work with the impedance of the driver used. The reason for two resistors, one in series and one parallel. Ohms law with resistors in parallel returns the ohms to the original driver ohms.

Yes I agree with you, to be rigorous and to respect the law of ohm it is necessary a network of resistances in parallel series. This is quite possible at the tweeter level to mount an L-pad Attenuator by making a removable mount with lugs.

Otherwise, when the values are weak, we can neglect the ohm's law and do without, even if it is not very correct at the theoretical level. Anyway everything is removable and it is to make listening tests and satisfy the ears of Speedy6963 :)

4 Cornwalls Budman?   That's awesome! ..And getting 4 consecutive s/n's without an issue is reassuring.

So earlier today I spoke w/ my salesperson at the dealer. He enthusiastically said he would reach out to his Klipsch rep early next week to resolve this. For now, and until resolved, he encouraged me to continue using this pair. There was not the slightest indication of impatience from the salesperson, just a promise to get it right. He knows I want a replacement pair that has been carefully checked for both driver fit and freedom from cabinet dents before I am called to inspect them myself and exchange my pair. ..So I suspect this is what I'll get once another pair is available. I'm very happy for this.

    Super   :D

  10. Without touching the filter of your FIII, you can test a reduction of the tweeter.

Just insert a resistor with lugs between the wire + tweeter and the lug + the speaker. The advantage and you do not need to modify and solder the filter or the speakers of your FIII. In case of resale you can remove the resistance and return the FIII as at the exit of the factory.

For the reduction of the sound, you can do progressive tests, until you find the sound you like: test with resistances of 10 w and 1, 1.2, 1.8, 2.2, 3, ... ohms. To do the success tests no need to dismantle the entire FIII, you will just need to unscrew and screw back the tweeter.

    Good listening

  11. The wood of my CWIII manufactured in 2015 has no defect: no hole, no bump. Just perfect !

Klipsch should pay attention to the aesthetic quality of its products, it's a shame to ruin a reputation with so little.

Klipsch should make an effort to satisfy you, with either a reduction or a remplacement of the product.

Maybe he could realign the horns of the first pair, right?

    ;)
