  1. I have the RP-260Fs with a RP 440C center and the center is outstanding. It sounds bettter than my previous B&W 600 series center. It's also an excellent tonal match. I highly recommend it. These speakers are the previous generation of yours. I also have a RC 64III which of course does sound a bit better. The only reason I bought it is because my 65 inch LG TV has a big semi circle base and it didn't fit on the 440C. Otherwise I was perfectly happy with it.

The RC 64III has better dynamics , snap and those life like dynamics. But the 440C is no slouch and is an excellent choice. Both reproduce vocals very well.

  2. Depending on the source material, running your speakers and Amp at full volume would probably cause clipping in the Amp and thus probably damage your tweeters.

Not to mention that it would be unbearably loud and your neighbours would probably call the cops.

Klipsch speakers are very efficient and generally most people wouldn't use more than a few watts of power for normal listening. I had a few 100db/w speakers before and

rarely used more than one Watt (indicated on the Amp VU meters). 5 watts was LOUD.

you are asking the wrong person , little do i know , from reading info for answers to this very question , it's clear to me you just have to start trying this and that and make your owe way .

I'd start  with a tubed amp , why not ?

That's what I am gonna do as soon as I get my new oled 65" mounted  above the fortes , opening up room for a table for electronics , then I'll start wasting , I mean spending money on stuff

    INVESTING money Kidd. Investing.

  4. I have the same speakers and had the same issue. In my situation the room was just too small. These speakers need a little space to breathe. Moved them to my larger beach condo and problem solved. Lovely warm sound and no harshness. Onkyo TX-RZ810 and 820.

Otherwise many good tips already mentioned in previous posts. Especially placing them in corners (like mine now) and turning the treble down a notch.

  5. Try adjusting the center channel distance by ear. Trust me, it will make a big difference. I have RP-260Fs, RP-250Fs and a RC-64III. I was dissatisfied with the sound initially as there was an imbalance between left and right and the midrange sounded a bit hard and cold. I adjusted the center channel distance by ear and it solved my problem.

By looking at your photo I can see your center is closer to you than your left and right speakers. Adjust your AV receiver's center channel distance so that it knows it's closer. This will add depth and balance to your sound. You can start with a tape measure and then adjust it by ear. The difference will be obvious. Trust your ears.

  6. I have the 440C as well and it sounds awesome. It sounds better then my smaller B&W center channels speakers (CM S2 and 600 S2) series. Clearer vocals and better dynamics and power handling. I also own the 64III which I just got delivered  and will be hooking it up next week at my beach house. You won't regret buying it. The only reason I got the 64III is because my new LG TV doesn't fit on the 440C. Otherwise I was extremely happy with it.

I picked up two SL1200MkII tables from a pawn shop, and amazingly, they both work fine. Sold one and the little mixer that came with them for my total cost of $350. So I got an SL1200MkII for $350.

I finally cleaned it up and bought an Ortofon Red, and it is very, very nice for the price. The first few hours it was awful, but all of a sudden all was good. My table came with no cover, but that's ok... I will get one some day.

@BernardLVH  What do you do in Shenzhen? My wife taught in Nanchang for eight years, so we passed through Shenzhen quite a few times.

    Bruce

Teach as well. And often visit the HiFi and electronics heaven that is called HuaQiangBei in Shenzhen. They even half the big old Western Electrics for sale here.

  8. I have almost the same system and use an Onkyo TX RZ810. Very happy with this set up and also bought an TX RZ820 for my B&W set up. Though I occasionally find the tweeter a little hard on the Klipsches so I used the EQ to lower things a few Db between 4KHz and 7 KHz. The B&Ws are smooth operators and warmer sounding but not as dynamic.

How are the prices?  High, low, or about market price?

For quality brand name stuff you pay a premium here. About 25% more than in the USA. So when I buy speakers here after a good discount I pay your MSRP price. So buying the higher end stuff here is tough. Can’t help but feel I’m paying too much. For example I ordered a new RC 64III and I’ll be paying about $2000 for it after a 20% discount. Price is guesstimate as they’re not exactly sure because it won’t be available until next month here. Stuff might be made here but it’s still sold at a premium here.  Sales tax is about 17% and is included in the price. Also the RC 64 is an import so additional taxes and shipping may apply.

Haven’t been to NanChang either. But if you get a chance to visit HuaQiangBei in ShenZhen you’ll find electronics heaven. Absolutely anything you can think of that’s electronic comes from here. Highend HiFi, low end copies, and electronic parts, etc. Love roaming around there and seeing what’s new or old.  Lots of old tubes and drivers for sale too.

You might try a free software called Shrink Pic, runs in the background - it'll shrink the picture on the fly when you upload it, based on your settings.

I know you can't get everything we can due to the Great Firewall of China, but see if this photo resizer helps.  It's small, quick and easy.

ShenZhen is paradise for anyone into electronics and HiFi. This is basically where 90% of your electronics and HiFi come from. Some brands like ShanLing are actually based here. I took some pics of the HiFi mall here but they're all over 3Mb and won't upload here. Hopefully I can figure out a way to compress them. They have the old giant Western Electrics there and so much more. And tubes galore. And of course this is where all the fake Kimber and Audioquest cables come from. Got pics of that too.
