  1. Thanks for the input MDENEEN. I guess It was the Mc Preamp or The combo That was producing that Air With those Minis. As far As Little Speakers, Were you referring to the Minis or The Rf-3's or both??? Per reviews of The Zen if you have at least 90+db sentivity that you should get decent Volume. The Rf-3 are like 98DB's. And I'm only In A 15x15' room. So, The Little Zen may be ideal for me if it'll produce that air & Detail I'm Looking For. But, I'm not looking to throw a party with Whatever I decide on (I can always hook the Parasound & Rotel up for That.) Just Better Music with a occasional crankability on favorite songs. I will defiantly do research on those other tube amps you've mentioned. Will those Vintage Tube Amps Require alot of tweaks? I'm not into\good with tweaks. Will the replacement tubes for those be really expensive or hard to find? Thanks again, Jalen ------------------ Pioneer 906s A\V Rec. 2. Hi All, I'm looking to get better musical detail Guys. Specifically I'm Looking for better depth and Air around my music. My Budget Is Very Small And Don't think the Old Lady Will approve of many more Upgrades. So, this time I have to hit the nail on the head. I went to a local audio shop here in Cleveland (Audio Craft) Which had a sweet Mcintosh Combo Hooked to a pair of Paradigm Mini-Monitors. This set-up sounded so good, it almost brought me to tears. It had all the "Air", Depth and Bass was like a wall of sound was coming from the minis. I could easly live with this set-up for the rest of my life. Anyway, I bought a pair of Minis. Got Them home and I'm getting no Air what so ever. Guess it was the McIntosh!!! Duh.... 2) Trying to get better music\Hometheater I then Bought more new speakers The Klipsch Rf-3II's and Maching center. Home Theater got better but music is still blah. 3) added Rotel RB 976 HT got alittle more slam, Music Still Blah. 4)Bought Parasound P/PH 850 Hooked it to the Rotel & RF-3II's. Music Got alot louder with about 50% increase in the Bass. But, Still Blah. 5) upgraded wire and interconnects, nothing fancy just all gold plated connects and heavier Gauge OF copper wire. Things i guess got alittle clearer. man with the upgrades 2-5 I probably could have had a decent used Mc amp\pre. I'm now considering a Used MC250 Or a new Decware Zen Tube Thing Thing. Or Selling My Rotel 976 and Getting either A used Mc2100, MC2105, & 7100 they run about $900-1200 on the used market. 1)If you were in My Shoes which of these would you buy? 2) Will Any Of These MC Amps Give me that Air\Musicality I'm looking for With My Parasound Pre?? 3) Is This Air all in the Pre Amp and i should keep the Rotel?? 4) Just Buy the Decware Zen Tube Amp?? Please Help me Guys. I'm so dazed & Confused. Sorry for the LONG post. Any Comments at all would mean a great deal. Thanks Jalen ------------------ Pioneer 906s A\V Rec. 3. Whoa Chickey, You Da Man\Woman. From your last Post I decided to do somemore tweakin'. I ran An Extension to another outlet in my livingroom and Replaced that damn $16.00 dollar ground loop isolator with standard gold plated rca's. I now have some beautiful tunes playin' in the background as I type this. I can even turn my rotel to max without a hint of buzz. Thank you so very much...... I guess I have to change my Signature to show new equipment. ------------------ Pioneer 906s A\V Rec. Rotel RB 976 Amp 3x150 watts for front 3 speakers. 7. Hi All, I'm Trying To Step Into The Wonderful World Of Seprates. Not having the money for what I really wanted, a really Nice a\v Preamp. I broke down and Orderd a Parasound Pre (p\hp-850) for my tunes only. Right out of the box I was getting a huge buzz from the parasound. So, I went to various sites including this one doing searches on solutions to this problem. step 1. I removed the cable connection from the loop. Connecting only my Rotel Rb 976, My Cd Changer, and The Parasound Pre\amp. Nothing Changed!!! step 2. I Went to RadShack and got a Ground loop Isolator. Nothing Changed!!! step 3. I Returned to Radshack and bought some cheater plugs and conneted them to my Rotel and Parasound. Nothing Changed!!! Step 4. I Tried the three other outlets in my living room. Nothing changed!!! Step 5. I called the place I ordered it from. They Are sending me a new unit. Hopefully this will fix the problem. But, If not I'll need a few more Inexpensive tips from you guys. I Tried to evaluate The performance of the unit and if not for the "Buzz" This will be a most welcome piece of my Musical Pie. Made My RF-3II's Sound like A Whole new Beast. Great overall performance, especially in the Bass Department, about a 60% increase. With only a couple clicks of the parasound. Please Help Guys I'm Pretty Desperate. 8. Heck for that kinda money It will probably be better Just to Get a good A/v Preamp and a Good Multi-channel Amp. Don't the Denon Models Mentioned run in the $2000.00 - $3000.00 Ranges. Yeah, you could easily get the B&K Ref 30 or the Rotel RSP 1066 or the Soon to be released Outlaw 950 and Good amps from these Companies. You'll Have the best of both Music and Home theater For many years to come. That is until THX Ultra *Nuts* and DD\DTS 12.1 comes out Lol. Wish I Had That Money!!!! ------------------ Pioneer 906s A\V Rec. Rotel RB 976 Amp 3x150 watts for front 3 speakers. 9. Hey, you could also check out Rotel, Ati and Outlaw for Amps. With your money you could get a pretty nice one to boot. I have an older Rotel RB 976 6-channel bridged to 3x150 watts for front three speakers sounds pretty good. I believe the Newer model is the Rmb 1066 and probably could be had for $600.00 Give or take. Check em out!!! Remember to audition as much as possible. Good Luck.... ------------------ Pioneer 906s A\V Rec. Rotel RB 976 Amp 3x150 watts for front 3 speakers. Awia XD-DV370 (MP3) dvd Klipsch RF-3II Fronts Klipsch RC-3II Center JBL N-26 Rears
  10. Keep your head up!!! Well, I got the RF-3II's this past X-mas. I thought the same thing "where's the Beef" turning the volume half to max. But, after about four days or so, I noticed that when powering up my system that I could barely turn the voulume one notch before it was loud & Clear. It sounds like your wires are correct. Just give it two three more days tops and you'll start to hear changes in loudness and clearity. If not then you got a Bum set of speakers Bro. As for the Bass, I think that is Source Material dependent. Meaning if after the breakin\burnin process is over try Some of the Latest Very well Recorded Rock, Pop, Jazz Should get you some Bass. If Your into alot of the older stuff then forget about it, no bass in alot of that older rock etc.. And if your into Rap Or Hip-hop Try the latest cd from Busta Ryhmes "Genisis". That Cd Had my 15x15' living room sounding like a Night club, just full of some deep Bass. All that was before I got my used Rotel RB 976 Bridged at 3x150w for the front three speakers in my set-up. But, that's another story, we'll just say that i noticed some improvements in overall proformance. Hope this helps ease the pain alittle, Jalen01 ------------------ Pioneer 906s A\V Rec. 12. Hello All, I'm a newbie to the wonderful world of Klipsch. I just got my RF-3's this past X-mas and think they are great speakers. But, with my aging Pioneer a\v they don't seem to sing during music play back like i think they are capable of. I've posted questions at audioreview MB about the subject but figure it would be better served here at the Klipsch BB. Duh... I'm not as rich as some of members around here therefore my budget is very low. We're talking about $500.00 bucks low. I've narrowed my search down to a couple two channel amps one of the tube variety and one a\v reciever. They are Audiosource Amp3,Decware Zen Tube Deal, and the popular Outlaw 1050??? What are your thoughts on these amps? Which of these will be the best bang for my buck and really make my RF-3's sing???? Thanks for any replys, Jalen ------------------ Pioneer 906s A\V Rec.
