  1. I just finished soldering the new caps on the second crossover. the la scalas sound good. I will post some pics later this evening. thank for everyones help.
  2. OK I fixed it. thank you for everyones help. it was a bad solder point. I can't rally hear the difference, but I guess if everyone is saying change the capacitors then I guess I just change them and hope that its for the better Now I'm going to change the other crossover to the new capacitors .
  3. Im so disappointed. I ordered new capacitors for my AA crossovers and also new diaphragms for my k55v dual phase plug mids. I changed the diaphragms and everything sounded fantastic. then I tackled 1 of the crossovers and did everything I was supposed to , just like on crites web page and when I hooked everything back up , I lost my mids and my tweeter. I'm soooooooo stressed. I don't know what could have gone wrong. please advise if anyone had similar problem or knows how what I should be looking for? thanks I tried to upload some pics, but it says I can only upload 2mb and it won't let me do it.
  4. I actually asked the seller to cancel the transaction. I have la Scalias with k55v with spring connectors . I'm going to put in k55v with the soldered connection and I also purchased a AA crossover rebuild kit from bob crites. Now the reason for my initial question was because the lasacala had 1 round k77 in it and the other cabinet had a square k77. So I wanted a matched set of round k77. What is better 16 ohm version of k77 or 8 ohm version ? one set has metal badge on the back and the other set of k77 doesn't. what is the major difference . thanks
  5. Hi does anyone know the difference between the k77 alnico with the big WK badges and k77 with out? thanks
  6. what would be the difference between the k77 round back with the badges and ones with out the badges?
  7. so does that mean that I can't use them with the k55v ?
  8. I just bought this pair of k77 from eBay and I'm wondering if a made a big mistake? they don't have the Klipsch badges on the back. are they original klipsch or after market? will it make a big difference if they are 8 or 16 ohm? I paid $225 Canadian with shipping
  9. I just purchased his AA rebuild kit. So now I will have to change my tweeters? or will it be just fine? I can wait to hear what my lascars are supposed to sound like
  10. ok now I know for sure I will just buy the rebuild kit and do it my self. Thanks for everyones help.
  11. ok so just to make sure that I understand. ( I don't want to make any mistakes ). all I have to do is just take out the old metal cans and replace in the exact same place the new caps? would anyone have a picture of the AA crossover with those caps in place so I can see exactly where each wire would go or maybe a diagram? I just don't want to ruin anything. thanks
  12. Thanks so much. if its that simple as to just un solder and put in place new caps where those old metal cans are, then I can do that. I was just concerned about what direction those caps need to go in . but if its all the same and just a matter of taking out the old cans and putting in place new caps in the exact same spot then I will do that. You guys are the best. by the way . I'm in Toronto , Ontario in Canada.
  13. so would you recommend getting a complete new AA crossover from crites, or just ordering the replacement caps would be sufficient ?
  14. So if I just purchased a totally new AA crossover from Crites, will that new crossover include all of what you just mentioned to buy and replace? because I'm not very good at reading schematics. if it would cost about the same, wouldn't it be better to just order new ones from crites, or will the parts be less quality than from the ones that you mentioned ? thanks
  15. will they sound much better if I got a complete new AA crossover with a new set of auto transformers from crites ? or should I just replace the capacitors and keep the old autotransformers? thanks
  16. LOL you guys are the best. I really like how everyone is so nice and helpful on the internet forums. people from all ends of the earth can come together and help one another. its amazing how technology works. thanks again for your help
  17. I don't have the money for bells and whistles. I will be content with just clean sound. I don't want to play with adjustments or anything like that. Oh I also have 1 more question. what glue or silicone should I use to seal the bottom cover of the la scales? I spend them up and the old stuff just crumpled to pieces because its all dried up
  18. What is a better crossover for la Scala ALK OR CRITES ? I just want the basics no bells or whistles lol. I'm just looking to upgrade my AA crossovers that are in there for 40 years. thanks to all in advance.
  19. Hi everyone. I am a klipsch enthusiast and love the heritage line of speakers. I have a set of la scales and heresy speakers in my collection. I recently acquired a couple of sets of k55v soldered connection mid range speakers, but the diaphragms are gone. is a aftermarket diaphragm going to work just the same or would anyone have an original set for sale? please advise. thanks
