  1. To those who've expressed interest, please be patient. I'm in the process of confirming the shipping costs to the various locations. I'll then contact the interested parties in the order they expressed interest. If those at the top of the list are still interested, they'll get them. If they're no longer interested, the next person will be contacted.

This isn't an auction. Please don't complicate things by offering to pay more than the actual cost of shipping.

  2. Restoman,

It's good that you're in communication with Bob Crites. This is an interesting project. It's fortunate for you and the vintage audio world that these weren't sent to a landfill. Please keep posting photos and progress reports.

But, PLEASE pick one of the threads and reply to it with new posts.

Your EV Georgian reminds me of the only time I met PWK. He was doing a demo of his 3 channel format hosted by The Stereo Shoppe at Long's Convention Center in Lansing, MI. It must have been the mid to late 70's.

After the very impressive demo, he was talking informally. The conversation, like his mind, went a mile a minute. One second he was talking about the economy (some things never change) and the next he was talking about his favorite single malt (I think) liquor.

I asked him about the erfforts of Klipsch to license the Klipschorn. He said that it was discontinued due to the inability of Klipsch to monitor the build quality of 3rd party builders, including EV.

He then asked, "Do you know what a Patrician is?" To which I naively replied, "It's a version of the Klipschorn built under license by Electro-Voice. He immediately responded, "It's a man who steps out of the shower to take a leak." It was clear that his entourage had heard the line before.

Then it was off to a new topic. The whole encounter lasted less than 60 seconds.

  3. Yes, do all of those. As to what will produce the most noticeable improvement, my experience is limited to the DJK bass reflex mod and Crites tweeters.

Nevertheless, I believe the new midrange horn and crossover upgrade would, together, be the biggest improvement. Next would be the bass reflex mod and finally the Crites tweeter. The change from the Crites tweeter would be the most subtle. Some love it; others prefer the K-77.

Good luck, enjoy and please share the results.

  4. EDIT: 02/28/11

    The Pilot tuner is gone.

    EDIT: 02/27/11

The Jensen coaxial speaker is on its way to a forum member in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to take up residence in a vintage Karlson cabinet. With luck, we'll see and read about how it works.

Either, or both, will be yours for the actual cost of UPS shipping. Help to keep these out of a landfill. They are a 15” diameter Jensen 2-way coaxial speaker and/or a Pilot Tuner. They belonged to a recently deceased father of a friend of mine. Photos are in the following posts. I have no additional information. If you’re interested, send me an email through the forum.
