  1. Yup, relatively new here and totally immersed in things, which I think is great!  One thing I just realized is how ruthless you all really are and I'm laffin my butt off.  Perhaps I'll be clocking in and out someday but right now?  Nah, not any time in the learning curve... I AM wondering about using that pvc sewer pipe for a rotary sub though...  hahaha!  :)

  2. Loyola had the ball hand and foot up on defense the first half.  They applied tremendous defensive pressure.  The second half it was a different story after Blue adjusted the offensive flow to the basket.  Loyola didn't have an answer to it!  Crunch time the lights were too bright and they imploded...  Nice to see Blue in the dance Monday night!

  3. Pfffft to the Sir stuff...  Bottom line was, he didn't say squat about anything.  No other offer of an LP.  It was all in the same breath.  Sure the area is upscale in Cbus, Ohio but people can't be so dumb and just say "yes" so fast or can they???  The lack of any other of the products was also disheartening.  I knew in the minute and a half that's what I wanted though and pretty much knew before I went in what I was going to do.  I'm not that transparent though...  Gimme the money and I'll see ya when I see ya doesn't cut it with me! Oh well...  :)

  4. Actually, a little of both.  He KNEW I'd never heard the amp/pre and gave me a minute and a half then end of the show is right...  No other LP, THEN wanted me to give him 1k to order my gear.  The deposit didn't matter but the audacity to ask so fast did kind of torque me out of shape.  He only had one amp and one preamp on the floor and no stock.  That's a rep for someone?   Maybe it's just me!  hahaha

  5. What I got today after driving an hour one-way to listen to a new tube amp in a showroom?? A total moron putting me in a nice cushy leather recliner in a room w/lthe amp, a $5k pair of B+W's and a turntable.  He told me he'd start the LP (Neil Young-Harvest) and work with his other customer while I listened.  Cool beans, I can relax and get gassed up!  One minor problem though...  About a minute and a half in there was a deep scratch, which was just hammering those B+W's.  I got up and turned the volume down just before he came running into the room.  End of the show...  If you want to give me a $1k deposit now I can order your gear he said...  Now on the upside...  He did give me the same info printed out that I'd been reading on line!  The real bonus though???  He gave me his business card, which I put into the fishbowl at a nearby Red Lobster where I did lunch...  How's he gonna eat???  That's what I got today!  :)

  6. Welcome Tom,

I'm also relatively new to the forum.  After having a Perreaux 3150 amp/preamp powering my old Infinity Reference Standard 2.5 speakers. I stepped it up w/an old pair of La Scala, so in the middle of a rebuild on those.  Fair warning, these guys will drive you insane with all of their knowledge on what to do, when and where to do it.  Now I'm working on TWO systems!  Gotta HAVE tubes they say, so here I go!  Green tubes, orange tubes just all tubes.  I feel like I'm reading a Dr Seuss book at times.  My advice?  Read all you can, listen to what you can @ the Klipsch dealers and go with what you hear and like.  The other thing???  These guys truly know their stuff and ya got a great bunch to chat with.  Seek and you shall receive!  Again, welcome to the forum and good luck!   It'll sort!   :)

  7. Welllllll WVU80, I've spent some time on youtube looking at the OSU band stuff and they haven't changed a thing.  It seems as though the snares etc. are supported by the waistband, which can be lowered somewhat if you lower the crossed suspenders they wear.  Soooo, I guess that Civil War holdover applies!  They are very much military in style when they march.  Good catch!  In 25 years of shooting in the stadium I guess I saw it and never really thought much about it.  Get the photos and get the heck outta there before it's over if you can!  lol

  8. I've actually seen them use both, but for the most part they're lower now.  The recent Director is the reason most probably.  They also use a computerized "flow" with each band member for their shows.   Everything is computer generated by one person somehow, which eliminates the old "block" type marching for their half-time shows  Each member has their own marching diagram on an ipad...  Therefore, the show actually flows like moving stick figures or whatever during their half-time shows.  That's why the NFL sent them to London a couple years ago to do the half-time show.  They killed it.  To my knowledge no other college band uses software to generate their shows.  It's like a crypto-clearance to find out who actually generates and plots the shows.  No one seems to know who the master-mind is!!

It DOES take Klipsch horns to play horns!  :)

  9. Hmmm, I have connections to the  ichigan program too but living in Ohio...  :)  No better band than OSU's imo!   Beilein is a great coach and right now it's like a feeding frenzy for them, which is great!  Now it's time to support the B1G...  It's just a game...  It's whoever is hot and I do wish Blue well.  Would be great to bring that trophy back into the B1G!

What are the specifications of the two cartridges? Within the MC and MM families, there can low output,  medium output and high output.

Not sure but is there a switch on the back of the Marantz where you can go from MM to MC?  If so, you might be on the wrong side of it...  Good luck w/the customer support.  Happened to me once w/my Perreaux pre-amp...  Flipped it and went WHOA!  :)

yeah, i have kids that act more responsible than i do.

When i was in High School, the two rock stations were KMET (The Mighty MET) and KLOS.  Seems that a person was loyal to one or the other. If you recall any of the DJs, I stood in line for an invitation only Queen concert next to Cynthia Fox (former KMET DJ)-- she was working for a station called The Sound at the time. A few years ago, they did a one day tribute to KMET and had many of the KMET DJs on-air that day. What a shame that station went away.

True story!  Met Foxy there long ago and she's truly funny as crap yet today.  Talked with her before they closed.  That's ANOTHER story.  Rita Wildwoman is from Detroit and she's another great person who knows her music..  Trust me they totally got dumped on.  Don't know if you know it or not they were actually wanting to buy the station.  How?  I'm clueless but they had investors...   Didn't happen.

    i sure don’t feel old.

a female co-worker once said to me, “remember back in high school when you’d make a CD of your favorite songs to give to the person that you liked?”  I said, “when i was in high school there was no such thing as a CD.  We were just getting cassettes.”   But, the memories of lying in bed, late at night, listening to rock n’ roll radio. I grew up mostly in Los Angeles area, so the station that i listened to was KMET.  “A little bit of heaven, 94.7”

Living in Ohio yet hitting LA LONG AGO, (now dated too even though kids walk in here and go wtf??  He's cool...  lol)  KMET kicked it.  Then the internet hit and I found KFWB one nite!  Shame they sold out.  West Coast was always cookin!

  15. Agree!  The B1G women are in Indy so why they took the men to MSG I'll NEVER know.  The women will leave Indy and start their playoffs.  The men after NYC will have almost a two-week break before the NCAA begins.  Maybe I'm just not seeing the B1G picture!  lolol
