  1. I'm interested too, I can pickup another set of klipsch 4.1s for about $300 (CDN) locally, not a bad price, I have an audigy 2 and it supports 6.1, any suggestions?
  2. Same thing happened to me 16 months ago when I got my set of promedia 4.1s, i just opened up the sub and noticed a wire was not attached and fixed it.
  3. Yeah, about 14 months ago I bought a set of klispch 4.1's off ebay, cheap like $200 or $250, brand new, when I got them, they wouldn't power on, and after the seller on ebay never returnred my emails I figured i'd just tix them myself, so having experience with electronics and home audio, i opened up the sub unit and fixed it, just a few things were lose, and all worked perfectly and still do to this day, modded wires and all. But, I would highly recommend you purchase from a authorized dealer, buying online may sound like a good idea, but unless its from somewhere like bestbuy don't bother.
  4. I made my own wires for my 4.1's, yes I noticed a signifigant improvement, I would definetly reocmmend buying the monster kit, or doing it yourself, alot cheaper, but either way you should be happy.
  5. There are Canadian promedia dealers, use the dealer locator at the top of this webpage, I know there are some at least in Ontario, should be alot cheaper to have shipped than from the US.
  6. I noticed that problem when I first bought my 4.1's about 18 months ago, but when I got them I had already planned on moddin the cable (which I did) and that helped, I also have the volume nob on the pod up higher and i mostly use the volume controls to adjust durin usual listening, i don't adjust the sound levels that often, so it isn't that big of a deal, totally forgot they had that problem til I read about other users complaining
  7. Ok, I also have been a pro 4.1 owner for about a year now -- I recently recommended my friend buy the logitech z-560s, the price is unbeatable, anyways .. after setting them up at his place and warming them up, did a few tests. Gaming (both of our systems have Audigy cards ya ya i know not true 24bit but sound decent enough) The logitechs are excellent, the bass isn't quite as tight as the klipsch i found, but for gaming the difference is not noticeable, they boomed when they needed to boom, and the mids are very strong, I was really impressed with these speakers at first. Music Played some diff stuff, alternative, dance/trance, classical(brought some test cds along), this is where I really missed my klipsch's, I love the highs and bass the klipsch's give compared to the logitech's, i found the mids strong - but highs and bass not up to par with what I was used to getting from my klipsch speakers, also at high volumes they started to sound even worse. DVD Movies Ok, first off that m3d switch in gaming and music I personally dislike it, in dvds i just dind't care for it, it seemed to add some interesting surround effects in dvd playback, personal choice though, anyways again, same results, boomy bass, strong mid, yadda yadda you've heard it all before. Anyways, I'm not just saying this because I own a set of klipsch 4.1's, but they are better than the logitech 560s, BUT the price of the logitech's really makes them attractive, foe half the price, you are getting 3/4 the quality in comparission, if I was getting a new speaker system today -- i would go logitech 560 OR Klipsch 5.1 or Videologic (if you got the cash) The price of the Klipsch 4.1's need to be dropped to compete with the new speakers coming out, great speaks tho, definetly not plannin to part with mine anytime soon
