Because it imparts the tonal characteristics he'd use if he used tone controls?

I think that clip is fake because her arm would've deflected at least to her left and probably she'd've gotten a fist in the face. She's still hot, though.

I was being flippant.
Well, I caught it right off

I'm pretty sure I got one with my Forte IIIs, in one of the folders...

I'm sure you'll be able to find some Internet references to support your position!

Since we are talking about distortion, what impact does a passive radiator have on linearity and distortion?
About the same impact as an open port, except no chuffing?

I doubt you'll want.

We did a following 5 only rounds up an odd number, thus with two-decimal figures you don't end up with 1.01 when adding 3/8 to 5/8.

Um... electromagnetic waves...
Yep. And depending on the frequency, we can use them to energize voice coils directly, transport information (near or far, with wires or without), or see them reflected off objects in our environment. I'm glad we got 'em! They're pretty useful little buggers.

And don't forget that even if the technician(s) were trying to achieve a truly lifelike balance, what we get on the recording is going to be an inverse image of whatever non-linearity their monitors provided them.

Make every amp sound the same first, and then get people to try the to hear a difference between them. 12 out of 12 correct responses required to win. I'd make that bet too.
Be fair. Evidently all it takes to make them sound the same is precise gain control between them and keeping them from clipping,.

The Forte III will occupy all-but-the-same floor space as the Heresy but will get over those chairs extremely much better. The bass is full and DEEP even at whisper-level volumes. Depending on how you buy them (hint) the price can be inconsequentially different between the two models. Call Cory and talk to him. Google "Metropolis Lake Outfitters" for his phone number - he's very responsive. Of course I'm only about 5 hours from him, but I ordered them on Monday and had the film-wrapped pallet in the back of a semi at a local factory parking lot Wednesday morning (I live on a dead-end street). The driver even took the pallet to the factory's dumpster for me after helping get them into the back of my truck off of his lift gate. This is the last time I'll say it here: just order some new B-stock Forte IIIs from Cory - you will not have any regrets (and no need of a subwoofer). Scout's honor.

A "kid" at work last night commented on my Carhartt vest. He was in kindergarten when I got it.
All the "working" stuff is in the stylus assembly. Likely is an electrical connection issue.

Capacitance can be a bitc_ some times.

Trust your ears, grasshopper...........
Because as we all know, everyone's ears are non-linear in different ways.

Radio (light) waves vs. audio (sound). 20kHz is a long radio wave.

Back around '79 I saw a bar band in western Illinois named "Eargasm" ... had two full drum kits going. I was impressed by the band. But more by their name. It can be an apt term, for sure.

Oh, I hadn't expanded the image enough to note the vertical scale. Agree that looks quite good.

Sugar maple is the best all-around. Easy to split (when forest-grown anyway), great heat/longevity, and next-to-no ash.
I always liked to have the wood split and stacked for at least six months prior to use for an indoor stove. Green anything is okay (if not better) in an outdoor boiler, I guess.
When I was leaving work this morning https://radar.weather.gov/ridge/Conus/Loop/NatLoop.gif didn't reveal anything "all that" yet, and even now doesn't show much cause for concern.

The way those curves were progressing, I'd be tempted to block off all the ports and take a measurement. Could probably sacrifice a few dB of overall output if it ended up table-flat...
