Looking forward to your impressions on the crossovers and tweeters. What do you hear now? Where is the improvement most noticeable?
I may do this to mine in the near future.
-
Nice facelift. I'm enjoying all the PWK links. Now if we could get some new colors on this forum web page that would be very nice as well.

Dangle my head over the front edge of my......
Moray, wouldn't it be easier to just turn it upside down and have a listen from there?
Yeah Dean, you're probablly right man. I was just thinkin' out loud.
-
Good replies and information gentlement. But what I am digging for here is this. Has anyone in their listening room turned them bottom side up and gave them a listen?
My point being, some rooms (maybe) could benifit from this.
For instance....a room that is too small for that big beautiful mid-horn.

Hey guys!
I was on youtube tonight listening and watching The Replacements. Great band. Right? Anyway, I was watching the "Bastards Of Young" video and it gave me an idea that I wondered if anyone else has tried with their La Scalas. This was common place back in the day with bookshelf speakers but I'd never ever thought of trying it with a La Scala...or anyother Klipsch for that matter.
BTW....long time no see.
Here's that video. It was a slap in your face at the whole MTV music video industry.

On some steam games I'm Kantucki. That was my old Medal Of Honor name from back in the day. BBC2 I'm go by Led Weappelin.
-
I'm on there. Post on the forum a little. Kantucki is my steam ID, but I'm Led Weappelin in Battlefield Bad Company.

I just put that site in my favorites. Thanks for that seti.

I actually don't miss "prone" now, though I did when I first startedI played this game quite a bit.
It's a nice game but it got a couple things wrong. The idea of giant
maps making for better sniping is great... the fact that you can't go
prone is RIDICULOUS. The vehicles are sometimes fun but provide far too
little armor. It's like someone strapped a target to your back when your
in them. I will get Battlefield 3 as it looks to have fixed the prone
issue. We'll see about the rest.
playing it after playing COD so much. The reason there is no prone in the game is because it made
snipers invisible, especially is the lush underbrush. With vehicles you
are better off having a partner or two in with you. The more eyes the
better ya know.
I play with a Razor headset and a Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional Series. For guns and explosions it's the best sounding fps I've heard yet. And the BF3 is suppose to sound better. They've worked on making it easier to hear footsteps and what direction they are coming from, things like that. The tanks are also a huge tactical disadvantage. You can't hear enemy footsteps!
I really wish I could get a good team that uses effeceint tactics. Rambo action is failure in full.
This game really craves a good sound system. I need a sensitive DRC. Yes, it's blasphemy for sound quality, but footsteps compressed to 0 db would be tactically awesome. Those stupid Turtle Beach headsets have ruined FPS games, the inverse of TV speaker usage.
They have also added Jets as another vehicle. Should be interesting. I'm not a big vehicle guy though. I play squad rush 99% of the time.

Yeah, I'm still playing on line everyday. Screen name is Led Weappelin. Just got a new PC with an Intel i7-2600k processor so I'll be ready for BF3 when it's released. I can't wait.
-
It's been my favorite game for the past year. I play on line almost everyday. Looking forward to new maps and the new Vietnam.

I don't post here much anymore but when I saw this thread title it brought back good memories.
Congratulations William. Your posts over the years have been very
enlightening to me and others here. You've always been kind in your responces
on this forum. An "internet gentleman" is an understandment. []Thank you sir.

Colin, I can see where one might need a sub for movies even with the mighty Khorns, but for music too? Of course this is a matter of taste. To each his own. But I'm betting you're using them in a large room. High ceiling?
-
-
LaScalas with no sub? A man after my heart.
-
I'd buy a separate table and cartridge to play my 78's on.
-
One could also just remount the speakers in the back of the cab. All one would need to do in buy a new plank of birch to install the speakers in. I've heard of this being done before. Always wanted to turn mine around bass bin backwards. It certainly should increase bass as Greg has said.
-
I also like that finish. Love the thicker wood. How much heavier are these to the ole originals? Does anyone know off hand?
Congratulations BTW.

I realize this is an old post but I've got a friend who just got an iGroove and I noticed the rattle at high volumes too. It does seen to be coming from the iPod itself as you point out. I'm thinking of just putting a paper towel behind the iPod. That may solve the problem.
Did you come up with a solution?
-
I second the Cornwall ideal. They go well with my PV-11. Another idea here is to roll a couple of different tubes in your CJ preamp. You may stumble upon a combination that will solve your problem all together.
-
I've been using a PV-11 now for a couple of years and I just love it. The phono stage is outstanding.

So did you close off the back opening of the doghouse or is that still open?
Uh... do you mean the 3x13 inch slot? That is what feeds the horn.
Yes, the slot. I was thinking if you open the bottom of the doghouse for the mod, you would have to close the slot.
Guess I was wrong. And glad I'm wrong too.

Geez. You're right. Now I see the front ports.
I was drinking port prior to that last post of mine[<)].

Man, I do miss this website. I've spent hours on it over the years. Obviously not been on it anytime recently. When did it go down?
