  1. It would be interesting to find another copy of that Gene Harris recording to see if it does the same. What is the title? If I see one.....
  2. But seriously, does side 1 of this record that you are having trouble tracking contain loud passages, such as the cannons on the 1812 Overture? If not it might just be damaged. Noun of your other records are doing this. Right?
  3. Wheat pennies could produce a grainy sound.
  4. It sounds like Forward Air does a good job and is cheaper than what I`ve been quoted, it`s just the extra leg work I`ll have to do and as I said, my day time is precious for sleep and play since I work at night. Besides, I`ve got it worked out in my tiny little brain that I`m getting a great deal on shipping at 8 cents a mile. Sounds better than $245.
  5. Hey Jim, how about posting another picture of your Cornwalls but with the grill detached. Uh?
  6. Hey Justin, I just went to DHL`s web-site and guess what?I got this.. Error: DHL Ground shipments cannot exceed 108 inches total length or 130 inches in length plus girth(2 x width + 2 x height). Cornwall girth ( I love that term ), is 135.5 inches. It was worth a try. Forward Air does not have a user friendly web-site. By that, I mean they don`t have a form to fill out to get an idea of what it would cost. Their other draw back is driving distance and time for the both of us. About 140 miles each way to LAX to pick-up and return home. I work at night and my day time is very valuable to me. But I`m still open to suggestions.
  7. With my Wolfenstein game I do not need the disc in the drive. As a matter of fact I was not aware that any game needed this but apparently that is not the case. I wonder why this is? A security copyright issue maybe?
  8. OK boys and girls, here are the details. UPS will not accept these babies due to their size limitations of 130 inches.(called girth). The seller has the original boxes the Cornwalls came in which totals 135.5inches. FEDEX ground has a 70lb limit(Cornwalls are 110lbs each, packaged) but would ship via air which is way to much money. The seller has found a common carrier that is a UPS sub called Transactional Freight. Price is $245 door to door(that`s from the St.Louis area to Buellton CA) with estimated delivery time of 4 to 7 days. What do ya think?
  9. MY GOD! Those are my cornwalls on the Klipsch Forum. They are good look`en. Thanks. I am so worried about shipping. Big,bulky and heavy. That`s a recipe for destruction my friend. I`ve read all the threads concerning shipping. That is what makes me afraid. Very afraid. Anyway, got to go to work. I`ll know more tommorrow.

That's one of my Cornwalls...I took that photo yesterday afternoon with my digital Olympus C-3020 on a Bogen tripod, and cropped the image on Photoshop 7.0. You really printed that photo? It is pretty, isn't it? Can't compare to your wife, of course; especially since she paid for your "new" old Cornwalls! What a gal...you lucky dog! ---------------- I really printed it. And it turned out great on my Epson 825. If my speakers look anything like that, man! Yeah, I am one lucky dog. My wife did`nt blink when I told her the price had jumped from $425 to over $700. Needless to say, I did some house cleaning today.
  11. Hey Jim, I don`t know where you got that photo, but I just printed it on premium glossy photo paper and it`s the most beautiful thing I`ve got in my house right now. Besides my wife of course. She bought the speakers for my birthday.
  12. Sounds like more trouble than it`s worth. How much performance do I lose by having to use the disc?
  13. I`ll do that. Post more pictures that is. I went through all of Moon`s threads this morning. He sounded like me doing the ebay thing. I could hardly type I was so nervous. I had been watching them all week and bid at the very end. Got out bid and went at it again. I was shocked when I won. And so happy. Anyway, sounds like a great shipper. But these are a little smaller than Belles, and I`m wondering if UPS could do the job.
  14. Yes. I am the proud new owner of some Klipsch Cornwalls. That was the reason I started the "Security" thread. It was all I could do to keep my mouth shut about them until I got some answers. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3017595802&ssPageName=ADME:B:BN:US:1 God I`m so happy. What does the serial# contain as far as information, year made and so on? I`ve e-mailed the guy a couple of times and he`s really cool. Needed to get rid of them cause he`s moving to a smaller place. He has super nice equipment so I know he has taken good care of them. So I need a shipping strategy. Suggestions anyone?

Dean pointed me that way and you all seem to agree. But that last line really puts the exclamation point on it. Who wants to be Bubba`s Beech. Wow!
  16. Well my guess is this record has been damaged beyond repair.Or there has been a sticky spill on it that you can`t see or get off. If the other side plays fine, and other records play fine, those grooves are just toast. If you had another cartridge it would be interesting to try but I would keep my good one away from side 1.
  17. You are just kidding? Right? Dean?
  18. Which Klipsch speaker do you think would authenticate the best, the sound of a bunker buster bomb in all it glory.
  19. Well at that price, he must have incorporated his gasoline bill in acquiring this collection. If that`s the case, this is a steal. But really, $5000.00 for one record. You could get 10 butcher covers for that price.
  20. Yeah, I guess I would want the same. It`s just, I`m about to spend a lot for my standards and was wondering how other people have done business in the past.
  21. Has anyone here ever dealt with a seller on e-bay that only accepted a money order or a cashiers check? Is there a saver way if they are not set up to accept paypal?
  22. I just recently got Metal Of Honor and cannot play it unless I have the CD-Rom in my drive. This is the only game I own that is this way. Why? Can I transfer it to my harddrive like my other games?
