buy a new power supply asap
Before recommending a solution it would be prudent to identify the source of the problem first.

These BAR 48 knowledge base articles suggest that the subwoofer also has issues.

nead assistance
Hi @xenon1, welcome to the Klipsch Community forums.
This is the Bar 48 No-Power Repair Thread. You have a completely different issue so you should begin a new thread in this forum for your issue. A good choice for a Subject might be: BAR 48 sub has very low volume.
Please provide as many details as possible:
- How old is your soundbar?
- Did it ever work at full volume?
- When did this start happening?
- Have you updated the firmware?
Your post will be much more visible and you will have a better chance that someone can provide an answer.

Now, can I get some help with the annoying, intermittent chirps coming from my Surround 3s? 🙂
You can search this forum to see if anyone has encountered a particular issue.
The Cinema 600 Sound Bar Thread has lots of helpful information. That would be a good place to become familiar with Cinema 600 soundbar issues or ask your question.

Klipsch doesn't offer power supplies; They won't repair the soundbar; If the soundbar is still under warranty, Klipsch will provide a replacement unit. If it is out of warranty... tough luck!

AirPlay is a new feature that was just added with the latest firmware update. It works properly for some customers but not for others.
Klipsch is aware there are issues and are currently investigating. Hopefully, they will have an updated firmware shortly.

One thing, cant find the cinema 1200 on my iphone airplay
Read this article:
Cinema Soundbars - Apple Airplay Support
I have followed all the instructions in that article and my iPhone Xs still can't see my Cinema 800. This feature has issues that impact many customers, not just us!

i know that i cant use the atmos feature over toslink.
You are correct but Dolby Atmos can be streamed over HDMI ARC if your TV supports Dolby Digital +, despite what Klipsch says in their knowledge base articles about requiring HDMI eARC.
If you have an Apple TV or similar device capable of providing Dolby Atmos you can connect it to your soundbar using the HDMI 1 or HDMI 2 inputs and enjoy Dolby Atmos that way.
I have my devices attached directly to my soundbar and not to my TV.

the only thing that hasn't updated is HDMI 42 i don't know why. What could I try to do?
Leave it for 3 days and see if it updates itself. If it doesn't, contact Klipsch Product support. They should be able to advise you.

Have they fixed this poor power supply thing or is it just the same hardware?
There have been a couple of hardware revisions since the original Cinema 600 first appeared. Klipsch doesn't advertise what specific components may have been revised. 😒

Isn't there a way to reset the soundbar?
Have you read the Cinema 1200 Knowledge Base articles? That's the best place for information.
There were a couple of other articles about updating your firmware but they are gone now. Klipsch tends to do a lot of that. 😞
When you finally install the latest firmware successfully the soundbar will update the firmware on its own as long as it has an Internet connection. I don't remember if it is the latest WIFI oe MCU firmware that will do it. The instructions in the missing articles say to leave the soundbar connected to the Internet and it should get the remaining updates within 72 hours.
If you have the latest DSP, MCU, amd WIFI, you can do a manual firmware update otherwise leave it for 72 hours and see if it updates itself.

Hi @allanwmurray,
These are all the support articles for the Cinema 600. I suggest you read through them and the posts in this thread.
Klipsch Cinema series product documentation, in my opinion, is rather poor. It is best if you read through existing posts to get an idea of capabilities and limitations.
34 minutes ago, allanwmurray said:Does the surround 3 speakers work when the soundbar is recieving stereo signals v HDMI or optical
The input source does not affect how the Surround 3 speakers work. Sources other than HDMI/Optical are limited to mono or stereo.
I had a first generation Cinema 600 and found that the overall sound and the sound from the Surround 3 speakers was disappointing. There have been a number of improvements since then so, hopefully, things are better now.
This is all that Klipsch has to say about Cinema 600 - Sound Modes.
On my Cinema 600, if I remember correctly, the ((SUR)) would only enable/disable the sound from the Surround 3 speakers. It would enable/disable Virtual Surround if Surround 3 speakers were not connected.
The Cinema 800, although more expensive, is a much better product. The sound is fantastic and it will use your existing Surround 3 speakers.

Actually there is a firmware update option in the app
This is news to me but if that is the case it should simplify your firmware updates.
What the app can do for you depends on which soundbar you have and the firmware installed on it. When I connect to my Cinema 800 with the app I don't have an update option. When I had my Cinema 600 the only way to update the firmware was by using a USB thumb drive.
Thanks for sharing. It's always nice to learn something new!

Excuse me, but the firmware is updated through the Connect App?
I don't see an option to update my Cinema 800 firmware on my Connect App...
Firmware is updated manually using a USB thumb drive.
You need to contact Klipsch product support to get the latest firmware. They will provide detailed installation instructions along with the firmware.

These are all the support articles for the Cinema 600.
19 hours ago, Mohsin said:My LG TV seems to have the Dolby Digital Plus HDMI option when connected to the 600. I've left it to Auto, and it plays DTS discs without any fiddling.
This is the Cinema 600 spec sheet. It is safe to assume if the spec sheet doesn't specifically state that a particular feature is supported then it isn't supported. Dolby Digital Plus provides higher quality audio than does other Dolby Digital modes but the Cinema 600 does not support and cannot process Dolby Digital Plus. None of the Cinema series soundbars support DTS.
19 hours ago, Mohsin said:I'm trying to save on power costs so I switch off the 600 at the plug
The power that the soundbar consumes depends on the audio output levels. When sitting idle it consumes very little and almost nothing if you just turn it off. There is no need to unplug it.
19 hours ago, Mohsin said:The Surround mode doesn't do much?
Read the support articles to better understand how it works.

Was just wondering if I need to use an 8GB usb to do the firmware update?
Klipsch has always said to use an 8 GB thumb drive formatted as FAT 32 to update the firmware.
The Cinema series soundbars are fussy about the USB storage used to update firmware. Drives larger than 8 GB are problematic. Even the way the drive is formatted can prevent a successful update. If your update fails, try formatting the drive with a single non-bootable FAT 32 partition using RUFUS.
Of course you can try any thumb drive you like, especially if you don't have an 8 GB drive. It won't damage your soundbar and it may even work. Just don't be surprised if it doesn't.

The RSB-11 is an older, not-too-expensive model and perhaps current Klipsch's address this. We are thinking of switching to a Sonos soundbar or other brand if we can't fix this.
The Cinema series is Klipsch's current series of soundbars. I have the Cinema 800 and I'm very pleased with the overall sound quality. That is not to say that these soundbars are without issues. A common complaint is dialog clarity, even with the dialog enhancements enabled.

@KevinB who I just tagged may have an idea.
Hi Billybob,
The only Klipsch products with which I am familiar are the BAR series and Cinema series soundbars.
Today when I logged into the forums I was given an option to enable push notifications, which I did. Maybe now I'll be notified when you tag me...😃

There is also DSP firmware...
I hope Klipsch provided detailed instructions showing how to complete the firmware update?
44 minutes ago, sbcoffey42 said:when I log into the soundbar from a browser i get a firmware up to date notice
That is what I have noticed. Do not use the web interface to update your firmware.
47 minutes ago, sbcoffey42 said:I can't get the upgrade on the LED display because it is dead.
Have you verified that you cannot enable the LED display from your remote or using your Klipsch Connect app?
If your LED display is completely dead you need to notify Klipsch. The LED display is needed to manually install firmware updates. It may be possible to complete a firmware update without the LED display working but it would be a hit or miss attempt.
Have you read the Cinema 1200 Knowledge Base articles?
See Cinema 1200 - How to Check Firmware Versions. I realize this may be problematic if your LED display is non-functional. You may be able to use the web interface to verified the installed firmware versions. These are the current versions reported in that link:
- MCU v106 >
- WIFI 1.0.209.0 >
- DSP 5.0 >
- SUR T 82 >
- SUR R 82 >
- SUR L 82 >
- SUB T 03 >
- SUB R 06 >
- HDMI 43
The Cinema 1200 - "PLS UP DSP" Message Knowledge Base article describes how to update your DSP firmware.
I hope this information helps...

Only you can decide what is best for you and "better" is a relative term. It implies better suited in a particular situation and you don't say how you use your soundbar. For example, I certainly would not want a Cinema 1200 just to listen to quiet music in my bedroom as I go to sleep.
As you may know, the Cinema series is a replacement for the BAR series of soundbars. When they were first introduced they had lots of reliability issues and firmware issues similar to what owners of the BAR series experienced. Most of the firmware issues have been resolved and the Cinema 600 is now at hardware revision 3. I don't know if there have been hardware revisions to the other Cinema soundbars.
Now that Klipsch has reduced the price of the Cinema series soundbars they offer great bang for the buck but it leads me to believe they may be getting ready to introduce a new series of soundbars to replace the Cinema series.
If you are looking for a new soundbar, this is what I suggest:
There is a lot of information in this forum about the Cinema sound bars. Check it out...
