Have any one of you heard the difference in sound reproduction due to cable connectors?

This is not "funny" question, just want to know if there is a difference in using expensive ones.

Common sense is that connection should be good enough to enable good signal path.

Do these connectors plated with beryllium, gold, silver etc. conduct better?

I have a very high resolution system, so yes, I definitely hear the difference. I replaced the tin spade connectors in my La Scalas to copper connectors. I replaced one driver's connector at a time so I could listen to the difference. Each copper connector for all three drivers gave me a little more gain and presence.

Lots of folks say the best connector is the bare copper wire. I would have done that, but my wire was too fat to wrap around the crossover screws. Copper connectors served the same purpose.

Very nice design! What did your friends think of them? Better yet, what did you think of them?

I think until you hear an amp playing thru your Fortes IVs it will be hard to decide which you prefer long term. I liked my EVO400 with the EL34s but when I rolled in the KT150s it transformed the sounds much and I prefer the sound of the KT150s very much over the EL34s. Having a tube amp is fun!

Same with my Quicksilver Mid Monos. I've experimented with EL34s vs KT150s. The KT150s won.

Always been interested in this guy's amps. I'm in the DC area so may have to drive up and hear them some day.

Have a set of Cornwalls ('84 I think) and I'm about to finish a DIY pair of OB speakers using the Lii Audio 15" full range drivers, so I might be in need of some tube goodness. I run everything with a Marantz 2215b right now (which I love), but might be time to switch things up.

The seller had these listed at $1,600 or so for a while. I figured he lowered the price to move them fast.

This amp designer/builder created an excellent KT-150 amplifier for me, and he still does custom work. The amps in this ad are not the prettiest, but their sound is excellent. I've listened to two of the amps in this ad at his home, and they remind me of a well seasoned steak with high end peach brandy. Good stuff. Everything you'd expect from a good SET amp.

The amps in this ad are from his high end builds. You can read a review of one of his low end amps at Glow In the Dark Audio - http://www.glowinthedarkaudio.com/nikolov-se6cu6.html

  6. The combination of covid stimulus checks and mortgage/car loan deferment created a whirlwind of inflation. That's when Klipsch used prices went ballistic. Now that inflation is grabbing us by the throat, prices are getting lower again. The world is a ghetto.
