  1. Congratulations Erik (& Marie), I am so glad that you got them. Please give us more details, and some pictures (I know that you don't have a digital camera at the moment) if possible later. kudret
  2. Hey neo, you don't even have your amps (Moondogs??) yet. I got my DRD 2A3s on the way kudret
  3. Dave, I have been interested in upgrading my SCD775 player to SCD777ES for long while. Is the XA777ES same as SCD777ES? Last time I checked, a used SCD777ES can be had on Audiogon for about $1500 I believe. kudret
  4. Here is the link to a very useful page: http://home.earthlink.net/~ivol/klipsch_cornwall/klipsch_date_codes.htm kudret
  5. Neo, it's a great preamp that you got. I was considering to bid on yours but I decided not to at the last moment. I am also happy that you didn't notice the SLP70 on time . kudret
  6. Thanks jazman, There was no time to ask for pictures showing inside or ask many questions, but I think I got lucky with this one. kudret
  7. Thank you Kelly for recommending this preamp. I am sure it will be an excellent match to my DRD 2A3 amps. Now I need to find a good set of NOS tubes for it. It's time to start reading some 6SN7 recommendations. kudret
  8. I've got it. We've just completed the transaction. He said he's been getting ton of email on this unit. kudret
  9. Guy, Shhhhh! I've contacted the seller and we've been writing back and forth. I really want this one. kudret
  10. Kevin, what a beauty. You have done an excellent job with them. Congratulations. They really look simple to build as you mentioned on Welbornelabs forum, but I still couldn't trust myself. Thanks for sharing, and please keep the pictures coming.
  11. Kevin, Any pictures of your amps yet? How does padauk go with them? kudret
  12. Erik, This is really good news. I cannot think of anybody else but you to build them. You are also in a unique position to campare these with your optimized Moondogs and Horus amps. I can't wait... kudret

Mine will be re-veneered in zebrawood soon to match my cornwalls. Heresys will never match the sound of cornwalls but are great speakers anyway. Enjoy them. - Gary---------------- Gary, The ones I picked up are really gorgeous. They were thirsty for boiled linseed oil though. After a few treatments they really started to shine and I do not want to change anything major on them, except putting in some lining and using some foam for sealing the back panel. I agree that they are no match for Cornwalls, but they are sure keepers. kudret
  14. Thanks Dave, It sounds like a good idea to put some lining in there. I'll look inside the Cornwalls and do something similar. kudret
  15. Yeah, now that you mentioned it. May be there was no lining back then. Anyone with '72 heritage speakers? kudret
  16. Gary, I ended up buying this pair from '72 when the highest bidder failed to contact the seller. Aren't they something? They sound a bit darker than Cornwalls though. Is this expected or could it be that the 30 year old oil caps in the crossovers may need attention? kudret
  17. I looked for Moondogs for over six months. During this time I saw only one pair for sale on Audiogon, and that was only after it was sold. If I hadn't ordered DRD 2A3s I would have bought Erik's Horus amps right away instead.
  18. Tom, Congratulations on your Khorns. In case, just in case, you have a problem with WAF and you'd like to find a good home for them , please let me know. kudret
  19. If anybody knows an inexpensive way of shipping Khorns to Canada I would like to buy a pair in the US. I have been looking for Khorns for a while but I haven't seen any in Canada. kudret
  20. I've contemplated canceling my order several times due to Ron's lack of response to any kind of inquiry, some regarding the DRD amps and some regarding the status of my order. BTW, Kevin, congratulations on your DRDs. I would be very interested to see some close-ups of the amps when they're finished, especially how padauk looks on these amps. I won't be seeing mine before Christmas. kudret
  21. Allan, I am tempted to give it a try, but Ortofon SPU costs twice more than my tt. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3051396166&category=3284
  22. Yea, I think I remeber seeing the sign "Atlas ..." on Cote-de-Liese. What a small world.
  23. >I lived in Lachine until 4 years ago when I got back to Quebec City.< Jeff, Wow. I was in Dorval at the time. > I should try to get your the SET bug at some time...< Kelly already did that. I just ordered a pair of Welbornelabs DRD 2A3s and Erik has kindly offered to buld them for me, hence my inquiries for a preamp w/ phono in the preamp thread. Did we hijack this thread or what?
  24. Jeff, I am in Pointe-Claire but I work downtown at Concordia. I got lucky with my '84 Cornwalls though. I got them through an ad in the local newspaper.
  25. No such deals here in Montreal. I've been looking for a pair for several monts, even placed ads in the newspaper, still nothing..
