a Crown Drivecore chip amplifier..
Which model ?

i didn't know that the Maestro Amp has a very low damping factor. I had eared the opposite.
Are you sure you speak from the big Audio Analogue Maestro Grand integre .. it is the heavy 114.64 lb amp - A class until 25 Watts and 150 watts over
-
If I buy it, it is at normal price in a Hi-Fi store. That's why I hesitate.
Around me, there are not a lot of lamp amplifiers second hand.

Yaqin MC-13s is with EL34 tubes ... Is it very different than KT88 ?
-
I have Klipsch cornwall IV since a little more than 1 and half year ..
until today, the CW IV are driven by a Audio Analogue Grand Maestro amplifier.
I never had tube (valve) amplifier.
I have not enough money to buy a big valve amplifier. I have seen the Jolida JD-505 with KT88 tube.
Do you think they will match together ?
Do you mean EL34 or EL84 should be better ? ( better sound i mean ) ?
Thank you for your help

Has anyone approached a too hot welding iron perhaps ?
-
i have the same problem with one of my Cornwall IV ..
i also think for that price, it could have better binding posts.- 1

I perhaps will resell the pair of apt-150...

I have newer had tube amps.
Someone near me sells a jolida jd-505 with kt88 tubes.
Do you think this amp match with CW IV or la Scala ?
Now, he sells it for a lot of money but i will speak with him if it is a good amp for my speakers.
I hope he will decrease the price

That's exactly what it's meant to be. The narrow slot in front of the woofer causes an increase in the speed of the air movement at the throat of the horn, just like a small round compression driver. Only bigger.
As for adding absorbent material to any cabinet, it will change the behaviour of the cabinet, which has been carefully designed to operate the way it leaves the factory. Changing the apparent/virtual volume of the cabinet will mess up the way the cabinet operates. It's very unlikely to make an improvement, but is very likely to make the speaker sound worse than stock.
you convinced me, I'm not changing anything.
And i do not know if in the original FH1, there is any foam inside.

I already have the apt-150, driver and Horn. But i would prefer to have a smaller Horn.
Like Marvel says, the threads are on the inside rim of the driver.
I don t know where i can find the right adapter

You would need an adapter to use a 1 3/8 horn mounting.
Where could i find this adapter, i mean in France or Europa ?

Thank you RandyH.

RandyH, i see you know everything about klipsch, do you know if Eminence Apt-150 were used on klipsch speakers, like a ev t35 (k77) ?
-
Ok. Nice.
I had the Atlas pd-5vh driver, and with the al-3 crossover, i had a loss between something like 4,5 kHz and 6kHz.
It s why i am looking for these k55m.
They should not going down over 4,3 kHz.
-
Yes i see k55m, it s only i thought that the original one has a metal plate with the klipsch logo.
Ils it a good driver ?
Do you know if it World with the al-3 crossover, or the AA crossover ?
-
Now, i do not know if i will put or not what i have bought to fill my cabinet.
In the scala box, the K33E behaves a bit like a compression driver with a horn (sorry for the perhaps false translation), don't you think so ?

Does Jolida JD-505 (KT88) amplifier match with CW IV ?

Nothing, but i am not very very happy with the sound at home. Perhaps it's my room that is not good.
I have read that tube amps are good with Klipsch Heritage speakers .. so i think perhaps i can try ..
