the 3 crossovers i tried ... the AL-3 with all caps changed .. the other (on the right of the picture - it's only for squawker and tweeter, bass was the AL-3 components), calculated by friends and simulated by mustang_flht and the third, the type-A with a little difference on the inductance (2,7 mH or it should be 2,5 mH). The simulation says, it is only a few Hz difference , so i will let the 2,7 mH. this is the type-A This is the AL-3 This is only for medium / high frequ.

Thank you for all what you have done for me mustang_flht. In the same time, i made the type A crossover, one time with 4 µF and back with 2 µF, like the original type-A. Then, i have tried to put the tweeter on the tap4 of the autotransformer ... something like 5 minutes and went back again to the tap5. When i have put the tweeter on the tap4, it was like my other crossover, like a hole in the mid-high frequencies. So perhaps, the problem of the other cross was a too low level of the tweeter, combined with a hole between meddles and high frequencies. I will try for few days (weeks) the type A. I have put it in the upper cabinets of my clones La Scala.

I didn't know that i can put the tweeter on the tap4. I will try if there is no risk to do that

I don t think i will upgrade to the AA type. Sure i will not put the zener to protect the tweeter.

Yes, perhaps i should reduce the sensitivity if the tweeter. I do not know how much, 1 to 3 dB. But i must not change the impedance of the tweeter. It has more sensitivity than the k77 (EV t35) but how much more. I don t know the sensitivity of the k77.

You're right Marvel, i will do that, jst listen music a few days. on the picture, i tried with 4 µF - since this picture, i removed the second 2µF capacitance. So i am back with the type-A crossover. It sounds good. On the board, i have let some place to fill with the components if i test the AA type, but i think i will not upgrade to the AA.

an additional question ... should i invert the polarity of the squawker ? i think not, because it is just à 6dB/oct (1st order) crossover ... but with the 3619 autotransformer i don't know.

Back again ... my type-A crossover are ready. These sound better with my drivers than the AL-3 ones. For remember : i have 2 Peavey FH-1 cabinets with Eminence Kappa 15C woofers, 2 Atlas sound PD-5VH drivers, 2 B&C DE10 tweeters. With the AL-3 crossovers, i had a hole between squawker and tweeter, or something like that. I made another crossover not based on klipsch schematics. It was, a little better but not on the full frequencies. So i ordered the components to make a type-A crossover. I didn't find 2,5 mH inductance, so i had to buy a 2,7 mH. Perhaps, i will retired some wire to make them be 2,5 mH. I only wait to test with 2,7 mH. It sound much better. I tried to do a second 2µF capacitance in parallel with the 2µF (original Type-A cross). The tweeter is more present, perhaps just a little bit too present. So what do you think now .? Would the type-AA crossovers be better than the type-A with my drivers ? If yes, i will have to find a ,0245 mH inductance ... it not easy to find this value.

I have received my components this miday. All what i need to build the type A, and i think also for the type AA. I used thé Iwata horns with jbl 2440 and the onken cabinets. I have sold thé cabinets because it is really not beautiful ... But sounded very very good

Hello mustang_flht if i can ask you ... can you (using your software) say me what would be the response with my speakers with the Type A or AA crossover ? I am waiting for my ordered items (capacitances , inductances and autotransformer t2a) to build one of these crossovers. I think perhaps i will have to add an attenuation on the tweeter because it has more efficiency (sensitivity than the EV T35a). I show you 3 diagrams of cross. One is the type A, the other the AA and a variant of them.

I have ordered 2,7 mH inductances (to make 2,5 mH after removing some rounds of wire), 13 µF (10 + 3) oil cap, 4µF oil cap, 2 inductances 0,5 mH, 2 transformers 3619 and 2 oil caps 2µF. Someone said me that oil caps are better with horn drivers, smoother. So i will be able to make type A or type AA crossovers. I just have to wait that the items arrive to my far island. Meanwhile, i will try (if i find the components) the crossover mustang_flht calculate for me.
