Just emailed Arek and he hooked me up. The Khozmo is the best passive I've tried and by a long measure. It's also one of the most gorgeously constructed components I've ever owned. Glad you like the tubes. Your experience is the same as mine. The 7189s made a big difference in sound quality over the EL84Ms. Very surprising. Those are NOS tubes, from the 80s.

Using the preferred series from the tube store. They are 1980s NOS tubes. I actually have a set for sale in audiogon right now if you want to buy them. They’re brand new. And cheaper than you can get them from the tube store. I guarantee they will improve the sound of that amp. As for the 12aX7 tubes I’m using new issue tungsol tubes from upscale audio. I also have new issue Mullards but I found the tungsol to be cleaner and crisper which I prefer.

I have been using a carver vta20s with my Cornwall IIIs for about 2 years now. The amp has fantastic synergy with with the cornwalls. I added a khozmo passive preamp in front of it for remote control. BTW, I highly recommend changing the stock tubes. I used the stock tubes for quite some time but when I change the el84ms out for 7189s it was next level.
