  1. I tried having 2 sets of main speakers for stereo. They were in the 4 corners. Ended up turning off the rear 2. They destroyed the sound stage imaging. I am thinking of trying them side by side. That might work as mentioned above. john
  2. I've been looking for this information for a long time. What did you do with the rear connections? I also have forteII's and was wondering if any of the new bi-wireable speakers' contact cups would work on the fortes(klf-30,etc). I was looking into the idea of tube mid/high and solid state to bass. Had also thought about a simple bi-wire setup from one solid-state amp. john
  3. About the hiss. When I got my ForteII's I noticed a hiss coming from them. I was using a Carver AV-705x amp and other carver stuff. The AV-705x has a gain potentiometer at each channel. I turned the gain down slightly and now have no hiss. It didn't hurt the sound and I still can't turn the volume past 10 o'clock. Don't know anything about Denon, but there is probably a gain adjustment inside.(you may not want to go there, though). for what its worth, john
  4. I had a similar problem. I added a Carver DD-5.1 to my system and got all kinds of hum. LOUD! Turned out there was 5 volts difference between the shield of my cableTV cable and the power ground. Really, 5v. It was getting to my amp through the audio connections from my VCR and forming a ground loop to the dd-5.1. everything I had was 2 prong so the 5 volts at the cableTV cable had no where to go... before. I broke off the 3rd prong on the DD-5.1 power cable and all is well. Just thought I'd add this for anyone else who might be reading this with a hummm. The reason you had to remove both the monitor and the computer cable grounds is that they are tied together through the VGA cable.
