  1. I was recently reading some of the theology behind audioquests cables and came across their claim that cables work better in one direction than the other. Ive heard this claim before and really dont believe it has any truth behind it.

First of all doesnt this defy the basic laws of physics? Besides the current moving through the cable is constantly switching directions, so how could one direction be better than another?

Just for the hell of it I decided to test this. I unhooked one of my speakers, flipped the mono switch and played a few songs. After listening to both directions several times, It seemed to me the first direction sounded a little bit better especially in the bass. But hell I think Im imagining things.

Anyway, anyone have any sort of logic in which a cable could perform better in one direction? Thanks.

  2. I picked up a pair of these ugly children at a garage sale for $10. Pretty bad shape, but they do have planar tweeters that both work. I took em apart, crossovers appear fine, woofers are shot. Apparently they were made in 1977. Anyone have any info about these for me???

The tweeters might be worth some $$$$$$. There are some similiar ones on ebay for around 2 or 3 hundred. thanks. 16.gif13.gif10.gif11.gif9.gif6.gif6.gif3.gif1.gif2.gif3.gif3.gif

  3. You see I would, but that would require me to:

Option A. find my camera, take pictures(straining on the index finger), get them developed onto a CD, and finally load them from the CD to the internet.

Option B. Go spend $$ I dont have on a digital camera.

Option C. Write an aggrivatingly long post about my possible options and do neither, promising to do one of the above one day in the near to incredibly distant future.

    And Option C it is.

Like I said i shall do it one day. But until this illustration will have to suffice:

    NAD C521

    Yamaha TX-400U Yamaha C-45

    Yamaha M-4

    There that should do it.

Oh yeah, and ill probably get on AIm tonight. Hope your on. Bye.

  5. Ahhhhhhhh. back to the endless bliss of general questions. A place where all of us can gather to post our questions not pertaining to any specific other area of the form. like...is there a god? just kiddin. No please answer that. I hope no one even reads this epitome of rambling psuedo-intelligent banter. good night.

  6. Exactly what i was thinking man. Except for the cabin part. This is uncool. If it is the webmasters attempt at qualshing irrelivant questions, its really not gonna work. I will miss general questions though. Maybe we should just use the powered subwoofer sectionas a general questions, as they are the coolest component. Or maybe the all powerful webmaster will bring general questions back. I sure hope so.

  7. Very nice man. Ive got RF-5s too. Great Speakers. If it is at all possible it would be a vast improvment to move your rf-5s out from their snugg surroundings. Thats really gonna criple them. If you could get am out and farter apart and maybe toed in, i promise you will notice a difference. Good Luck.

  8. Yeah, a 10s really not gonna cut it in a room that size. My room is 12x12 and I have a 12. lol. ANd it is quite the gut-wrencher. Good Luck!
