  1. Thx for voting Bob G. That gives the Yays quite a lead. Yay Nay 10 5 I'm still not sure how im gonna vote. At first I was almost deffinatly Nay, but I think their growing on me. I would really like to see them in person though.
  2. LOL. Lets see this makes it... Yay Nay 9 5 Once this whole shindig is over ill be sure to instigate several recounts just for you jt1stcav! Oh yes and I still need to vote
  3. Thanks for the input Bob G. lets see now if my tabulations are correct... Yay Nay 7 4 Well looks like Yays have a comanding lead. I cant believe Bob G didnt vote. Im offended. Just Kidding. Im just glad we can actualy talk about stuff like this on a KLIPSCH forum. Thanks for not moderating the hell out of us! Hey Tripod hasnt voted. Tisk Tisk. i havnt voted. oh no. Ill make it a good vote. Anyway, we need some Nays to even it out. soon. PS I have had RF-3s for 5 days and I LOVE them!
  4. One thing to consider of course when using dual subs is that a second sub usually only adds about 3 db to total output. In a perfect world, 2 combined identicle waves increase total level by 6 db, but in the real world its closer too three. If db output is your main concern, a larger sub may be preferable to 2 smaller ones. Of course with 2 subs, you obtain more room filling bass(less nodes). Also 2 subs results in cleaner, fuller bass, and of course they look prettier.
  5. Oh yeah ill talk to ya on aim tonight. SHould be on around 8.
  6. Ok Trevor. I dont know whether to believe you or not. Last time you really got me going with your rf-5s story. What happened to the RF-7 auction?? If you did really get them im glad there in cherry.
  7. Ok, lets see. Thats one more Yay so.... Yay Nay 3 4 The Nay still has the lead but it is close. I still havnt voted though. We shall see. I dont think they are any beuaty padget winners, but like I said, Id sure as hell buy them. Hey, Maybe the design will grow on me. Havnt seen em in person yet.
  8. Subs. Lets see. Fun Stuff. Anyway, I dont ahve any great links, but I do have a good book recomendation. "The Complete guide to high end audio" by robert harley I read this book a few months ago. Very informative and consise. It will tell ya everything you want to know about all this stuff. ENJOY!
  9. Im not shure what Michael Hurd meant, so hes disqualified! mwahahahahhahaaha! Ok so the tally comes to....... Yay Nay 2 4 Wow, Nay was twice as many votes as Yay, wow look out KLipsch, you potentially lost .0004% of your market!
  10. Man $200. ouchy ouchy ouchy. Well, first of all, im going to suggest a reciever for $202 on yahoo shopping. Just let me say that I do consider it mean, cruel and somewhat sacreligous to power rf-3s with it. But hey, around $200, what can ya do. My suggestion is the Pioneer VSX-711S. Not a bad reciever. Everything you'll NEED. At this price its a pretty good value, for all it can do. I just hope the computer market comes back soon so you can upgrade. goodluck!
  11. Overkill? You will find that this term is unknown to many of us on the forum. Yes it is true that you will probably never turn your RSW-15 past half way, living in an apartmant and all. But it still is a great powerful clean sub and worth your money. And hey, say one day none of your neighbors arent home, you can really turn it up. As far as powering your speaks, Denon and Pioneer Elite are some of my prefered reciever brands. If it is an option though, seperates would be far superior to any reciever (A 5 cahnnel amp and pre-amp). Rotel makes some very nice separates, as does B&K. As far as wiring, I like Acoustic Research Pro series 12 gauge. Most people use monster or something superior to it, but im very hapy with my AR. Its a fraction of the price of Monster too. I hope you enjoy your new system. You lucky SOB. good luck!
  12. They are kindof ugly. id still buy em if they sounded good though.
  13. NO im bi-amped. My yamaha is 120w x 4. Im using all 4 channels, henceforth bi-amping.
  14. Being the person that wrote the article, I have to say that the wood veneer looks a little cheap as well as the front baffle design. Would I buy I pair? In a heart beat. That is if they sounded good.
  15. Well, I was talking to ProDJ online and he sent me a link of the new reference system commenting that it was no eye pleaser. Surely you jest! As the graphic slowly loaded (56k) I was shocked to see the new design. While I dont think its downright ugly, it certianly dosnt loook as good as the old stuff (like my rf-3s ). I really dont like the copper dust caps. http://www.klipsch.com/photo_gal/RF-35_SYSTEM%20.jpg So What do you think, new Klipsch Design Yes or No? PS. I know visual appeal should come far second to sound, but I really like it when my audio equipment looks pretty.
  16. Before I purchased my RF-3s , I also gave the KLF-10s a listen. Some people absolutely love the KLFs, especially for rock. First song I tried on them was a rock song, and it sounded great. No quite as smooth in the treble as the RFs though. Later I tried a classical peice and compared rf-3s to KLF-10s. In my opinion it was really no contest. RF-3s took the show. Thats how I heard it, but if the KLF-10s make you happy, knock yourself out. Just lets your ears decide. And test them with a wide variety of music. Also one more thing to consider is that the KLF-10s are NOT shielded. So they cannot be placed within a few feet from a TV. Good Luck!
  17. Sig Upgraded. Man breakin your speaks in really makes a difference. I listened to them 6 hours on sat and 7 hours yesterday. I already noticed a big difference in the speed of the woofs by late yesterday. GOd I love em. I have to go back and listen to all my music over agian. LOL. Yes and I know your jealous trevor and I wouldnt have it any other way. Ill be sure to post pics.
  18. WOW! what a sweet sounding deal. I could use one of those PS2s. Im gonna go bid on one right now. Thanks for the heads up trevor! I have RF-3s and they sound reallly goood! I listened to them for 7 hours yesterday lol. After partially breaking them in some I really notice a big difference. Talk to ya later Trevor.
  19. Im with Jasnoob. This concept of overkill is new to me. Rf-7 all around an an RC-7 for center would rock. If you can afford it. If you are really into movies (and it sounds like you are) you might want to wait for the Klipsch THX certified system to come out. It looks pretty sweet. Always a possibility. If you do decide to go reference series just remember that adding a subwoofer only increases total output by an average 3 db. SO you may be better off with a RSW-15, or hell how about 2 RSW-15s
  20. GOd they sound great. I love em. Went to tweeter, picked em up this morning. Gog they are so sweeet. I have them bi-amped on my Yamaha M-4. SOunds great!!!!!!
