  2. This collection of tube amps is unbelievable...
  3. One other quick question: What did you do to 'build-in' your horns (what kind of material, what angle did you use, etc.)? Rob
  4. Those K-Horns look amazing! What finish are those? Let me know how the K-Horns compare to the Cornwalls. I have a pair of Cornwalls and was thinking about adding a pair of K-horns to the collection. Rob
  5. It is not marble. However, it does look like a marble finish. It is some kind of composite. The table ways a ton..well not a ton literally. Thanks for the kind words. If you want to know more...http://www.hwdsound.com/Nottingham/products.html
  6. Cool spacedeck! It seems like the Nottingham Turntables are a little rare. How/Why did you decide to buy yours?
  7. Thanks for the advise. After switching cables, speakers, source components, and tubes (to different channels). I believe it is 1 of 2 tubes that may be faulty. I am going to switch out the tubes and see if the problem goes away... Rob
  8. One of my Klipsch Heresy speakers starting making a very loud popping noice. It is somewhat irregular. I am not sure what causes it to happen. It does not seem to matter which source component I am using.
  9. Very cool speakers! Did you buy them off e-bay?
  10. The table lists for $1,200 The spacearm with mounting is another $1,200 The Bluepoint is around $250 I bought the whole set-up on audiogon for a bit more than 1/2 of retail. It was less than a year old with very little use! I had the music hall MMF-5 which I sold on audiogon to help pay for the Nottingham.
  11. My new Nottingham Interspace Turntable with Spacearm Tonearm and Blue Point Cartridge blows away my Music Hall! I was not sure I would be able to hear any difference. It is amazing how much beter this TT sounds! More accurate, finer detail, a huge step up!
  12. Record Conventions...where do they have these?
  13. Does anyone own a Nottingham Turntable? I am thinking about upgrading my TT...the Nottingham interspace looks like it might be a good table in that pricepoint. Thanks for any feedback in advance.
  14. Thanks for the recommendations. Where do you buy the mobile fidelity recordings? I have found a good source of 180g vinyl on e-bay. Treasurefinders is the guys online name. He starts alot of auctions off in the $12 range...not bad for new 180g records!
  15. I have been buying a bunch on vinyl on e-bay since getting my turntable. Yesterday I received Bob Dylan's MTV Unplugged performace on 180g virgin vinyl (double lp). It is awesome!!!! Just like being in the audience... Does anyone else have any favorite audiophile lp recommendations?
  16. At the suggestion of someone from Quicksilver Audio (makers of my tube phono preamp), switched the left and right cables from my tt to the preamp and to the amp and it fixed the problem! I am not sure why this would make a difference...but I am happy it worked!!! Does anyone know why this would make a difference?
  17. The amp is awesome! It is amazing how loud and clean a couple of SET amps can be. It powers a pair of Heresys perfectly. I am a big fan of ASL equipment...good value for the money.
  18. I am having a problem with my turntable (or cable or preamp). Sometimes when I turn the record over, the sound coming out of my left channel stops. In order to correct this, I unplug the left channel cable going to my preamp and plug it back in. This seems to 'reset' the problem. Does anyone know if it is my interconnect, preamp or something else that may be causing this problem. I am using a Music Hall MMF-5 with a Quicksilver Tube Phone Preamp... Thanks for any help or advise! Rob
  19. Check out these speakers... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2510182354&category=23794
  20. Do you have a picture of your set-up...it sounds cool!
  21. The split plinth along with the adjustable pads (built in) seems to work fine. I was just wondering if the isolation pad would further increase the sonics...???
  22. http://www.auralthrillsaudio.com/ AURAL THRILLS AUDIO The Company That Listens TURNTABLE ISOLATION BOX New and Improved Now our boxes are covered in black vinyl laminate. It is more durable and better looking than the previously painted ones! The first time that I made an isolation box the sonic improvements were unreal. I then read about using air as an isolation medium and came up with the idea of building a box that not only isolated against vibration, but would allow the user to LEVEL THE TURNTABLE as well. If you look at the picture of the box you will notice three air valves on the front. Simply by using a Bell foot pump #2439001001, (Most bicycle pumps will work, but this one works best) available at Wallmart for under ten dollars, you can level your turntable by inflating or deflating. The valve on the left controls left up and down, The valve in the middle controls back up and down. And finally the valve on the right controls right up and down. This is really great on a lot of the newer turntables that have no method for level adjustment or built in suspension system. You can also change the overall sound of your table by increasing or decreasing all of the air levels equally. It is made of heavy MDF and is finished in a non obtrusive matte black. It's exterior dimensions are 20X19X4 inches and it will easily hold 200 pounds. The top is 17 3/8X17 3/8 so please check to see that these dimensions will fit your table before you order. I originally made this for a friend whose turntable is shown in the picture. It has no way to level it and a somewhat lacking isolation system. The improvements in sound were not subtle. A much larger soundstage was created along with more accurate placement of instruments. Richer and fuller with more detail and less background noise. It seemed as if the music were coming from a silent black hole. It made this relatively inexpensive table sound like the big boys on the block. If you have any problems with footfalls or any kind of external vibration, this is the unit for you and as an added bonus you can adjust your level easily. When ever you are hearing a lot of snaps and pops from your records the first item to check is the level. It must be perfect in order to get the most from your vinyl. Even the most expensive cartridge won't sound its best unless the table is level. It is imperative that the needle track down the center of the groove. I check my level every day as houses often shift where I live. Make sure and check out the Ebay feedback on my product as well as Audiogon because customers are raving about the sonic improvements. So if you would like to try this magic box don't delay. now is the time. Shipping is only 20.00 to anywhere in the continental USA. This turntable base blows away in performance and ease of use any other isolation gadget that I have used in all my years as an audiopphile. It is so good that I know that the Sterophile mag people will never dare to review it since they only cater to a megabuck minded consumer audience. I was able to pick my worse sounding LP and played some background items that before were veiled to my ears. The fact is that I do not know what I was doing wrong before. Well, I know what I did wrong ; not buying your turntable platform earlier! Two Thumbs way up to your designs and wish you great success with your future endeavors. J. E.
