  1. Thanks for all the responses. It seems I can't do any damage to them by using them normally right out of the box. I suspected as much since there is nothing in the manual suggesting a break-in period. I just thought I would ask the experts as it were, since they are new and I am looking forward to many years of enjoyment (starting tonight). Thanks. Shaun
  2. So, I've often read that new speakers need a break-in period. I just purchased a new pair of RF-62's and look forward to hooking them up tonight and cranking up the volume. What is the general rule-of-thumb on breaking in new speakers? Can I do actual damage to new speakers by playing them at too high of a level too quickly? Is it more a matter of how they will sound at first? How long is the break-in period (if there is one). Any other advice. I've had a few different models of Klipsch speakers in the past - but this is the first time I have considered breaking them in. Thanks Shaun
  3. Thanks - I am actually hoping to find something that switches 6 RCA style inputs (for L,C,R,LS,RS,SW) - two sources input to one output. Optical will not work.
  4. I am in need of a solution. I have a DVD-A player and a seperate SACD player. I know it might be easier to just purchase a universal player - however I am curious if there is an economical solution available to switch between 2 5.1 channel inputs. (My receiver only supports one discrete 5.1 input). I was also considering building my own switching device, but hae no experience in this so I don't imagine that it wouldbe easy. Does anyone have any advice? A quick web search produced no solutions to my particular problem. Thanks! ThatBMWGuy

    Best Demo?

Hi All: What DVD is your favorite Demo disc to show off your HT system? Of interest is the sonic qualities. My current pick would have to be "Gladiator DTS" My system (currently): Mains: Klipsch RB-3 Center: Quintet Rears: Quintet Sub: KSW-12 Receiver Yamaha RXV-620
  6. Thanks for your advice. One day I hope to be able to step up to the 7's. Be Well!
  7. Yeah, I have to admit I haven't been proofreading very well this late at night. Sure, I have the only 13" KSW ever made (actually it's a 12" of course). I think the wall anchors may work. My Bimmer is an 02 330i 5spd. Thanks for asking! I attempted to attach a pic of it.
  8. Thanks for the replies. Currently I live in a modest apartment and my listening room is a 13' X 15.5' living room and the rear area opens into the dining room. My primary listening material is DVD DTS or DD 5.1 movie soundtracks (action, drama scores, etc) two channel CD music, and broadcast television. I am looking for a good surround choice that will give me a transparent surround field but can deliver localized effects if necessary. I would also like them to match the timbre and output of my RB3 main speakers. I was concerned about mounting because of their weight. I had assumed they had keyhole mounting but I'm not sure how secure that will be unless the screws I use to mount the speakers can find a stud. Thanks again for the assistance. And for RatBoy your friends 318 sounds very cool, and you are on the right track about Chris Bangle. I don't think anyone would mind if he went back to Peugot
  9. I am slowly upgrading my system and my next purchase will be the RC3 and probably the RS3's. I was wondering about mounting the surrounds. Do they require any special wall mounting? Also, are there any alternatives to these speakers for surrounds. Se my system below. I started with the quintet satelite setup. I have a 5.1 system. My Setup: RB3 Main Speakers KSW13 Sub Quitet Satelite Surrounds Quintet Center channel Yamaha RXV620 5.1 receiver 100 X 5 Panasonic DVD A100 Sony Wega 27" (soon to be updated to a HD set) BMW 330i (the exhaust note is music to my ears) BMWdriver
