I also have The Fives in a small TV area but would be interested in why it's not a good idea? Are you thinking EMI, or worried about draw from the internal power unit? -

I power by Heresy 1's with a PSAudio Sprout 100. My wife was astounded how much better they sounded on that rather than our Denon AVR. No sub, in a living room.
