  1. The connection to the floor is an important design element in the bass delivery? This must also apply to K-horn. I remember reading about mounting other types of speakers on heavy stands and installing spikes that firmly connected the system to the floor.
  2. What is the general consensus on installing casters on a La Scalas? Any change to sound character? Other considerations? Anyone have a type they have really liked? The speakers will be installed in a home with wood floors and throw carpets.
  3. They may go high....but this is a good time to bid on eBay. A lot of folks are doing summer activities and thinking about (or are on) a vacation. If it were me and I was in the market for them, I wouldn't chase them but I'd set a limit and stick to it. On eBay, bidding last minute (sniping) is the best technique.
  4. Not affiliated with the seller. If I were in the market for a pair of Klispchorns, these look very nice.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/314621121797?mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338197647&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1
  5. Bump....Also considering La Scalas too.
  6. I am in the market for a Belle or La Scala pair also. Based on what I've found, condition is important, location in country and what era it is from. The last criteria will indicate components including the crossover. Most crossovers will benefit from being rebuilt with new capacitors. Some crossovers are not recommended to be rebuilt as they are wonky (type AB?). If you have to buy a replacement crossover, it is ~$500 which you need to add to the speaker. As far as value, prices seem to have increased during Covid. One set of Belles in black sold for $1600 on eBay recently. I think $2500 is max for a set in good shape. Again, know what you are getting.....there is never anything wrong with paying extra for really nice condition especially if they will be seen. La Scala which cost quite a bit less originally then Belle seem to bring only slightly less money as used pieces. A vintage set that had a chunk of wood 4x5 inches on the side missing, sold for $1000 today on CL which I thought was good if you could live with a cabinet with issues. They seem to go for $1500-2500 in general. Patience is a virtue when shopping I believe. More experienced members, please correct me as I am new to current market in Klipsch.
  7. Now I see how Klipsch got lower bass in the pro line. They added another woofer in a separate unit.
  8. I alternate: Mac 1500 receiver or Professional Studio Engineering (PSE) Studio SL Pre and Studio 4 Amp Bluesound Node streamer with DAC or Schiit Modi 3 DAC Speakers......Spendor BC-1 but looking for set of Klipsch Belle
  9. Yes, there appears to be good opportunities if one is willing to wait for the right set. There was a pair that had distressed cabinets (nicks on edges and watermarks on top) plus it has the Type AB crossover (which I understand should be replaced) plus it needed to transported 600+ miles. Total cost would be close to $3k and at end of say, it would still be unsightly. Please email or call f you spot anything (chronometers(at)gmail(dot)com or Three-zero-one 501-seven-four94). Thanks -- Chris
  10. Thanks but I am looking for the Belle specifically. LMK if you run across any and I'll definitely let others know about the Chorus that you have.
  11. WTB: Pair of Belle speakers. Located in Oberlin, OH (near Cleveland) but willing to arrange transport from anywhere in Continental US. References available. Pls. email me at: chronometers(AT)gmail(DOT)com
