    "break-in period", a myth?

    Of course there is a break in for speakers and electronics. I might agree with the assertion that you as the listener get acclimated to the sound of the equipment but how can you explain the same electronics the same speakers in the same place and over time the sound becomes better. Much like a great touring car the parts work better when "broken in" of course this is all subjective. and i could be wrong9.gif

    Denon 3803, B7K 307, Rotel 1055 Pioneer elite VSX 47... Help me out, I have a 53 inch HDTV With a progressive scan DVD player and a HDTV DIRECTV receiver. But I Also want great 2 channel sound. Is Rotel or B&K the only way to go. Which will reach the deepest and tightest lows and is not overly bright. HELP HELP HELP

    RP-5 LFE question

    RP-5 LFE question

    Hello, I own a pair of RP-5s and i am looking to utilize them in the best way possible. Currently i have my yamaha amp sent to large and use the "low" on the speaker level inputs. What can i do to get the best sound out of my system.. Please add any speaker wire choices you have found that make a diff. My yamie allows for dual subwoofer oututs so should i be utilizing this function? any help will be greatly appreciated. Yes i am also looking to upgrade the Yamaha to a B&K or Pioneer Elite in the somewhat near future.

    Your own ears must ultimately make the final decision.

    Agree with that assessment the only problem is getting a B&K amp here in my house to hear the difference. I did note on their website that a dealer is within 15 minutes of my locale which is almost unheard of where Im located. Thanks for the input it looks like i will have to decide sometime between the pioneer elite 49 tx the B&K 307 or some other setup.16.gif

    SUB to match with RP-5s need help

    Hello I have a 12 x 20 listening room with my rp-5s at the 12 ft wall. Im looking for tighter deeper base and would like some suggestions for an additional subwoofer and possible receiver combo with my RP-5s I currently have the DSPA 3090 which does allow me to add power amps if necessary but is only 5.1

    Even though I own a great yamaha amp i have to agree as it relates to quality per dollar spent. Dennon still seems to have that elite (no pioneer pun intented) sound and isnt just another mass producer like pioneer and sony. Id say in the last 5years or so yamaha is slipping ever closer into the pioneer sony area. I still believe their top of the line equipment is on par with the denon but unless you are willing to pay 3000 i would go with the Denon. Hurts me to say as i have had some sort of yamaha amplification for almost 20 years in my systems, but its the truth.

    The answer to all the questions posted are really based on your budget. Obviously i would timber match the RF3 IIs with other speakers from the reference range as listed on the klipsch website. My living area is 20X12 but the actual distance to my tv is about 15 ft and it sometimes can be overbearing, My recomendation to you is keep the wega for now and in a years time get a 50 inch plasma. by then the prices for quality 50 inch displays will be in the mid to low 3000s im sure the sony you are looking at can be had for less but for about 1200 more you could be looking at less space and imo a better picture. as posted the AVSforum is a good place to find information on all display devices.

    Thanks for the info.. thats probably why they only rate 3 out of 5 stars by yahoo shopping. Your statement about shipping is correct these sites gouge the consumer on shipping when they receive the cheapest shipping rates base on the amount they ship over the year. The RC-3 II can be had from an authorized dealer about an 1 hours drive from my location the price is 299 + tax so about 325. thats about 75 dollars more then the cheapest place online and not authourized. But for that price i could get some quintets for my front effects and the rc-3 II. Decisions decisions.4.gif

    As far as onecall is concerned they are authorized to sell discontinued klipsch products. The products carry the full klipsch warranty. AAFES is the army and airforce exchange service and are authorized to sell klipsch and they had the rc 3 II for 299 and i had a rebate of 15% off but when i went to buy it they informed me they will no longer carry this model. 8.gif Hopefully if im patient i will find a good deal somewhere.
