  1. Oh...I get it so your city doesn't even have a football team for you to root for, so let's jump on the wagon, right?? []
  2. Looks like Billy Boy is finally using that money for something worthwhile....
  3. Not me. I'm going to fess up. I want to see the Seahawks kick the ever living shat out of the Steelers. Not gonna happen quit that way but... Would be sweet. [] Looks like the Seahawks faithful belive in their team.... Would be sweet, but we all know that is highly unlikely...Hey as long as you know who will be on top at the end. Vegas line was out on Sunday before the Seahawks even won, Steelers were favored by 3.5, line has moved to 4.5 as of today and most likely will be at 7 before kickoff. Looks like the world is betting on the Steelers!!! Is Seattle having any pre-parties at Quest Field to send off the team today? Huge party in Pittsburgh at Heinz field, everyone has been informed to leave early if they are not planning on going as the city will be impossible to get out of after 5!
  4. Bill H., Congrats and welcome to the world of Sony HDTV LCD's... You will be very happy with the results. If you have time run a search on avsforum for all the tweeks to enhance you picture quality..makes a World of difference! Also what are you using for a DVD player? Enjoy [][][]
  5. m00n, I understand what you are saying.... What fun would a Super Bowl be if a little smack talk wasn't involved....just trying to get you going....
  6. "They should have it in the New Orleans Superdome every year..." Then m00n would complain that his Seahawks would be playing Miami in that SuperBowl and that they would have home field advantage. "The fact is, due to local, it makes it much more affordable for people in the area. " Bottom line is that tickets can be had for the right price. Pittsburgh fans are loyal to their Steelers. So loyal, that there is a 20 year waiting list for season tickets. Pittsburgh fans will remortgage their homes for season tickets, and to pay the $2200 price per ticket to see their Steelers in the Super Bowl is a no-brainer. To some, yes, it is a bit excessive, but to real die hard fans it is well worth it. It is not because people in Pittsburgh have more money or they save money on the cost of a flight, it is because of their strong devotion to the Steelers. Last time I checked Seattle was a larger metropolitian city, that has much bigger business, and generated more revenue than Pittsburgh will ever see. You mean to tell me that people in Seattle don't have the money to go, yet people in a blue-colar town of Pittsbugh do? What the Seattle fan base should do, is quit spending all their money drinking Starbucks coffee and put that money towards Super Bowl coffee. Keep in mind how much that home field advantage helped the Steelers. How easily people forget that they beat the number 1, 2, and 3 teams in the AFC all on the road, all of which were higher favorites to win the Super Bowl over Seahawks. Who did Seattle beat, 1st round bye, and then the number 6 seed and number 5 seed.
  7. Man..... The game hasn't even started and people are already crying....[]
  8. Audible Nectar, I was looking for your post with the list of the events that are scheduled for SuperBowl XL. Could you repost, PM me or send me to a link. I thought you said that Snoop Dog was performing? Let me know....thanks!
  9. Yea, two great teams in the Super Bowl....it's going to be great. I hope both teams play well and do not sustain and serious injuries. Congrat m00n, and Necter nice picks yesterday, you were like what 6 points off!! Enjoy XL, it will be one for the ages!
  10. Thank you.... Alexander is putting on one awesome performance 100 yards already....3 min into the third.... Congrats on 10K!!!! TD JACKSON - - GO HAWKS!!!!
  11. Just gotta get you going a little, Pittsburgh has now beat number 1, 2 and 3 seeds in the playoffs...they can't be stopped. Honestly we'll be rooting for the 'Hawks, wife went to school out there.... Alexander looks like he is back!
  12. Very interesting point.... Final Score Pittsburgh 34 Denver 17 Denver's going golfing and... PITTSBURGH'S GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!!
  13. m00n, m00n, m00n.... You underestimated us last week against the Colts and we beat them, you now have underestimated us against the Broncos, and we shall beat them as well. As for your Seahawks... The MVP of the NFL who holds the rushing title for 2005 is not 100% and hardly practiced this week. They are a well round team, but do not excell in any one area. They let go of one of the best defensive players (Lucas) who is now playing for Carolina (I am sure they never saw that coming). It seems fitting that Carolina will knock off Seattle. First time ever a number 5 and a number 6 will meet. When was the last time Seattle won a Super Bowl? When was the last time Seattle went to a Super Bowl? Better yet when was the last time Seattle was in the Playoffs? I think you see my point....
  14. "Each one of them should be fined. Remember Steelers Pats this year...somehow there was an additional 0:32 on the board which gave the Pats a field goal with seconds in the game. What did the NFL officials do...reviewed on Monday and apologized to the Steelers....total BS. These guys should be fined!!" Well it is official, just announced on ESPN. The NFL officials have just apologized, that they made an incorrect call on Troy Polamalu's interception. The call should have stood as an interception and not overturned. That is awefully nice that they apologized...FINE THESE ZEBRAS AND GET THEM OUT OF THE NFL!!! Also, questions are arising that Vanderjagt threw the game?? He mentioned a few years ago that Tony Dungy and Payton Manning could and would never win the Super Bowl??? Interesting..... Or could it just be the curse of Jonny Unitias????
  15. Never understood gambling odds. What do these numbers mean? m00n, easy way to look at it... Denver is favored by 3 point (-3 means they are 3 point favorites - score at kickoff is Steelers 3 and Broncos 0) Since Pittsburgh is the underdog, they get points to make it even. Seattle is favored by 4.5 points. (-4.5 means they are 4.5 favorites - score at kickoff is Panthers 4.5 and Seattle 0) Since Carolina is the underdog, they get points to make it even. Meaning that in order for any money to be paid, Pittsburgh would have to outright beat Denver or be within 3 points to collect pay. So if I bet $100 on the Steelers they have to either: 1) outright beat the Broncos, or 2) be within 3 points(ie Broncos 21 Steelers 20). Because even though Denver won, they didn't beat them by 3 points...therefore I collect. If the score was 21-17 in favor of the Broncos....I lose. If the score was 20-17, 3 points across...I push, neither win nor lose, because the spread was 3. This is called a push... Same goes for Seattle (I used Pittsburgh just because I am partial) With that said, it is given that each home team almost automatically gets 3 points, the home field advantage. So the reason why I said "home field must count for something" is because Steelers are getting three points. If the game were played at a neutral site, it would be a "pick em" meaning there is no line/spread on the game and you "pick the winner". If Pittsburgh were playing at home they would be favored to win by 3 points, everything above would then be reversed. Ready for Vegas???
  16. 3-1 this week, how did all the non-believers do???? m00n???
  17. Odds are out.... Conference Championships Jan 22 AFC - Pittsburgh at Denver (-3) 3 PM EST on CBS NFC - Carolina at Seattle (-4.5) 6:30 PM EST on FOX I guess home fields counts for something....
  18. I apologize if I posted incorrect information, as when I was in my search for a center channel it was recommended to me that a KV3 was the best choice if a another KG4 could not be done. With that said, a few questions to to mind: 1. Exaclty why is a KG 2.2V and a 2.5V better than a KV3? Not sure if I agree with this, as when the KG4's were around (1988-1992) neither of these center channels were around. It wasn't untill 1992 were either of these produced? 2. What line were the KV center channels designed for? Please advise so I do not post incorrect information int the future?
  19. Craziest game ever, but then again that is Steelers football, always have to keep it close and keep their fans on the edge of their seats. In regard to ranjiths quote, these three calls were obvious and I cannot believe these are the "best" officials in the NFL. Each one of them should be fined. Remember Steelers Pats this year...somehow there was an additional 0:32 on the board which gave the Pats a field goal with seconds in the game. What did the NFL officials do...reviewed on Monday and apologized to the Steelers....total BS. These guys should be fined!! As for all the non-believers... All sports analysts, 17 total in all that I heard and read, each but one (Merril Hodge for Steelers FB) all picked the Steelers to lose. 9.5 DOGS.... All I have to say is....R E S P E CT!!! "Any Given Sunday".... Heading to Mile High...it won't be easy...
  20. I'm a HUGE Steelers fan, next in line would then be Seattle as my wife went to school there. But Seattle looked horrible, three bad fumbles and if the 'Skins would have showed up...the outcome would have been different. I haven't seen the 'Skins play as bad as they did in the playoffs, and it is ashame because they looked awesome all year long. Congrats m00n on the win. Next up, Broncos vs those pain in the @** Pats! GO BRONCOS!!!
  21. And get the ball back from a fumble from the kickoff... ....come on 'Hawks.....
  22. Not Seattle? Everyone picks them to walk to the Big Dance? Steelers played the Bears in week 14. At that time the Bears were #1 in defense, then again they were in the weakest division in the NFL and at that time they had only played two teams with an above .500 record...not saying much. That is probably the biggest difference between them and with Baltimore in '01. Just hope the Steelers defense shows up and our linebackers can get to Manning. We were able to get to him last year, but this year they are a completly different team.
  23. Steelers have a chance if; their running game is on and they commit ZERO turnovers. Other than that, it is going to be possibly the toughest game this Steelers team has faced. 9.5 DOGS going into Indy is not a great feeling. Just hope Indy is a little rusty with 3 weeks off... I know Brady is 10-0 in the playoffs, but that team is so banged up, if their division wasn't so bad they would have never made the playoffs. I like Denver to run on the Pats Defense, and in Denver that isn't difficult as long as T.Bell is healthy. The other two games, Seattle should be able to blank the 'Skins' and IMO out of all the games, Carolina has the best chance for an upset against the Bears. Not sure who was in those uniforms last week but they looked good againsts the Giants.
  24. Professor.Ham.Slap, First off Congrats on the big Orange Bowl win, one of the best college games I have seen ever. In regard to your post, I do see your point and what you are saying. From my knowledge, employees at BB do not make any commission, however they have thier goals that they have to meet. Based on that, you are just trying to help out a potential customer. The local BB here, they will match local prices. If I take an ad in from J&R, One Call, etc...they pretty much do not hesitate to say "you are better off buying from them, we can't touch those prices". Which is true. What the online guys rely on, is a quick sale and they don't have to worry about you ever coming back, plus you already know what you want because you have already seen it at BB. What BB rely's on is, we have it in stock today, and we are here for you if anything happens. IMO, when making a purchase on a $5,000 TV set, that is a level of comfort that I personally would like to have for a few hundred dollars. What the customer has to understand, is that they came into your store, and talked to you as a knowledgable source on the subject matter. You obviously did everything that you could, and if that isn't good enough then simply inform them of the situation. They have two options, thank you for your effort and move ahead with the sale. Or why and complain, they can easily walk out just as easy as they walked in. Bottom line is that major retail stores do not negotiate. BB understands that the prices on these things change quickly, and they need to keep the customer coming back. That is why they have the 30 day price match gurantee. Could an option be, alright I see that you purchased a $5,000 TV, plus the wallmount stand say $500, plus delivery and installation $250 and some of those monster cables. So we are at $6,000 plus tax. And there are no coupons this weekend, (otherwise as we all know the price would then be 10% higher). Is an option of giving him 10% the total price of everything before tax possible?
