  1. Hi CaptnBob, it sounds like you might have data on these puppies? I'd like to find a broughsure or any kind of Lit on these. I have been playing as much as I can and they are incredable....just fantastic. I have Speakerlab Khorns in the other room and love them both equally. Different sounds but both great. I need to get rid of my EH300b tubes and go with KR300b tubes to really bring them out. I don't know what the midhorn driver is. I can't find anything in the lit that even closely resembles it. Cheers.
  2. Hi All, I just got a pair of EV Patrician 700 for pennies on the dollar.....couldn't pass them up. Anyway, I can not find any data on the net about these. They are 1962 modles. Can anyone here help me? I surely do appreciate it. Cheers.
  3. Hi Danny, I would really like to hear your impressions after listening to the ipod through good speakers. Cheers.
  4. Hi Neil, I used 1/2 " foam weather strip on my Khorns when I assembled them. It seems to be all you need. Let me know if you need anything. Are the xovers and drivers OK? Cheers.
  5. Hi Mike, call Todays Audio in Burton. The manager there is a great guy. My sense is that the price was a starting point for negociations. I would offer $1200.00. Let me know how it goes. Cheers.
  6. Hi All, I auditioned a VMPS New Large Subwoofer yesterday in Flint Michigan and right as I walked in, there was a pair of Belles in mint condition.....mid 70s vintage. The guys wants 1800 obo for the pair. I have no affiliation, just passing on data. Cheers.
  7. Hi Neil, I will have you over when I get it all set up. Is there a football game this Friday night. I'll stop by if there is. Cheers.
  8. Hi, when I wrote that it was late at night and I was only thinking about the first order, not the 2,3,4,5,6th. I audititioned the VMPS New Larger Subwoofer last night as a possible. I just don't think it can keep up with the horns. The sound is better matched to non-horn speakers. I am going with the EV Patrician VI cabinet with the K33 driver.Cheers.
  9. The first post in this thread where there is a wood horn with a BR woofer on top and bottom. The guy who owned them just posted a post in the Audio Asylum that there are free for the taking without drivers. They went in about ten minutes. Cheers.
  10. Hi Neil, actually, next to nothing means that I would do a custome paint job on a Harley Chopper in trade for the cabs. Let me know when you get the LaScalas. I've never heard them and would like to before they go to school. Do you have an amp for the school as well? I am going up to Burton Tuesday to listen to the VMPS New Larger Subwoofer. I have heard great things about it and the company. Cheers.
  11. Hi Diz, I am really looking for tight fast bass from 100hz to 30hz or so. I do not do the HT thing so music is really where I place the emphsis. In some of the other discussion, it seems that 40hz was the low end of the khorn, that is why I ask about the patrician. As I understand them, they are about 18% larger than the khorn so does that mean they will go lower? Thanks.
  12. Hi D-Man, I have not been in this forum for long time but I posted the thread about using two khorn bass bins as subwoofers. It seems like it is not the good choice. You seem to know a lot about the theory and I don't. Just today a friend offered me back a home made Patrician cabinet with out driver. I was wondering if you knew if that cab would go down below 40hz. Would it work as a subwoofer with the right driver? Thank in advance. CHeers.
  13. Hi Guys, My Midbass horns go down to 80hz so I need something to go from 80hz down. As I understand it, the lowest note for a normal band is 42hz on a bass so 40hz would seem ok to me. But then again, I don't know much. Cheers.
  14. Hi Diz, I am sure I saw you at the games. My daughter Laura was a cheerleader for a while. I don't know if you remember, but there was four RCA multicell horns hanging from the gym ceiling that had the wires cut to them when they put in the new sound system (four years ago this was), well I talk Terry Piper into letting me have them. I used them for a surround for quite a while. Cheers.
  15. Hi Diz, I would really like to go but I teach that day here in Troy and teach that night online. Anything else I can do, please let me know. You are right about the price difference, they would turn out better than most khorns. I am building an Edgarhorn system now. Cheers.
