  1. hello! It's been a long time, Dodger doesn't respond to my PM's i don't get it? Is there something wrong?!
  2. Thanks Dodger and the rest for this! mailed you Dodger ! What is a gripper exactly? I do have the standard plastic kinda spikes that you get with the RF5. Is a gripper some device to put under the speakers, so in other words the speakers are standing on grippers? hope someone can explain this to me, very noobish i am yes
  3. I would love that, though i don't know what u mean by grippers.. thats probably not the word for it here so that's why i dont know what a gripper is. can u show me a pic perhaps? If it's usefull I would love a couple... and would be so nice if you can send it to me, that would be like awesome ! thanks !!
  4. thanks!! Well it's gonna be hard for that do decide. when i clap my hands in the room right now i don't hear any echo or anything. there's Klipsch horns in that room right now but on floor-covering not laminate! so it's not easy going to be
  5. thanks for the reply, so laminate would be raping the sound of my RF5's? Damn, and yes it's a personal taste but hey when I purchase a new floor of laminate and the sound sucks then I wasted a few hundred dollars for that. So i need to be sure, and I love laminate as flooring in my living room but it has to sound awesome... In the room are curtains and perhaps I can put a carpet somewhere in the room to improve the sound??
  6. I'm dutch so kinda hard to say those words in english, but yes laminate like in wood. You can click these wooden things on the floor and that makes a floor. So how would my RF5 sound on wooden floor...
  7. hey fellow Klipsch users In 8 weeks I'm going to live on my own, 24yrs old and I've found a nice house to rent with my bro. I've got some very sweet RF-5 floorspeakers here in my bedroom at this moment and the acoustics and sound is awesome. On the floor lies fabric-flooring/floor-covering (dutch word is "vloerbedekking")Now the question is, when I move to the other house and place my RF5's in the living room on laminate how will that sound compared to floor-covering!? I really want my speakers to at-lease sound the same as they do now. This is my setup, right now - Klipsch RF5 floorstanders cherry - Unison Research Unico hybrid amp - SACD/CD/DVD player
  8. i can get the RC-3 II for 399 euro instead of the normal price 499 euro. I've seen this center and its BIG. My room is not big but a normal bedroom wich is about 7 meters length and 3 meter wide, and Is this center too big for my room along with a couple of rf-5's? If so what center is recommended? oh and... why isnt the rc-3 II not on the klipsch website?
  9. thanks man for your reply... It isnt possible for me to go for fullrange rear speakers. My bed is placed in the corner, and in the other corner there is my door Now I can go for small rear speakers, as you named the RF series (15s/25s) I will give them a try. I will take the Center speaker in the RF series really serious, cause I think the best way to go is Klipsch. A nice sub from Klipsch with it and a good amp by Denon/HK/NAD and there I go :-) Little turd does indeed NOT no what stuff hes using hes one lucky son of a . ;-)
  10. Due to the marvelous amount of information/tips in my previous topic in the "2-channel audio" section here is my next subject. I am keeping my RF-5's, i would be nut to trade them for smaller ones. Now my next step will be: Home Cinema. Ok I've got a hybride amp from Unison Research named "Unico". This fine piece of work produces incredible sound combined with my "Marantz" modifies AH! Tjoeb'99 cd player. "wich DTS receiver?" Now I need a DTS/Dolby Surround amp along with some rear's, a center and a subwoofer. I have a small bedroom, by.. length= 7 and wide=3 meters. I really want a nice "cinema sound" in this room so I can watch DVD music/film, and play Nintendo/PS2 games in surround. My budget for a good amp would anywhere till $ 699. I've heard I don't need that much power for my RF-5's. Brands like NAD and Denon I hear a lot in here. are there any types in that pricerange for me? I want DD, DTS, Pro Logic II in the amp. Also optical/coaxial would be a must for me. please do some suggestions on brands and types in the $ 699 budget. - Denon - Harman Kardon - NAD " Rear Speakers" Then the next step would be rears. I am thinking about rears from Klipsch, is that highly recommended? or would a speaker by Tannoy do the job as good as well? in the case that i MUST take Klipsch... what "small" rear speaker do you recommend? also keep in mind that i don't need "the best cinema sound there is" just a very nice sound. - Klipsch - Tannoy - ???? "Center speaker" Then a center speaker comes to my mind.. but wich one would be suitable for me? remember I have a small room so what would be a good sub... Klipsch?! - Klipsch - ???? "Last but not least the subwoofer" What kind of subwoofer is suitable for my room? - Klipsch - REL - ??? Hope some Klipsch-maniacs can help me further, like i was helped in my previous topic THANKS!
  11. ---------------- Also noticed your guitar; is it a Taylor? ---------------- YEP you've got that right! Its a Baby Talor. Actually its the first Baby Taylor made in the factory of Bob Taylor in the US! I also got a full-sized guitar the Taylor 420MA. I love Taylor's! You got a Taylor or?
  12. The salesman told me also that a subwoofer isnt good for anything using the RF5's He told me that I just need front, rear and center speaker and thats it. but i guess a subwoofer is highly recommended?! So I think i will let the salesman and come, hook anything up he wants and i he can blow me away with the little speakers, and i fall in love with the 5.1 setup... maybe.. just maybe I will give them my RF5's.. it never hurts to listen ;-) If.. i will keep my rf5's what rear speakers/center-speaker do you recommend to me? i prefer little speakers rear. And what type of subw? what will be the total price ticket for a rear/center/woofer?
  13. http://members.lycos.nl/Artz3D/hpbimg/new3.jpg just one more for you guys
  14. http://members.lycos.nl/Artz3D/hpbimg/new1.jpg http://members.lycos.nl/Artz3D/hpbimg/new2.jpg here you go! please note that my room is pretty high see picture... I am totally in love with my RF5's but my dad told me it was "overkilling" him. I want to make HT cinema in this room, for a nice price so i was wondering if the RF5 isnt too big for a room of this size...
  15. Ok here goes, here is the room my RF-5's are positioned in. The floor is from carpet. just copy and paste these... and you see my room http://members.lycos.nl/Artz3D/hpbimg/kl1.jpg http://members.lycos.nl/Artz3D/hpbimg/kl3.jpg http://members.lycos.nl/Artz3D/hpbimg/kl2.jpg
  16. what do you mean by, that you know wich one to choose? I presume you mean that i better keep the RF-5's? Another question though What is that kind of "foam" on your wall that is visible on that picture? is that just a little piece of foam that brings the good sound in? My setup is as follows: Unison Research: Unico (hybride amp) Klipsch Reference RF 5 Marantz TJOEB'99 cd player in a minute I will post a picture of my room, wich will be here within 15mins from now... oh yeah just a little note: I am getting sick and tires of all the "so called specialists in shops over here" thanks! Bram The Netherlands
  17. Hello there... Currently I am a proud owner of a couple of RF-5's in my bedroom. My bedroom is in meters 7 m length and 4 m wide. Now I've been told that my room is WAY to little for a couple of RF5's. I want to know what you're oppions are. I am very happy with them, but hey if its true that the RF-5's are too big for this room then I need to return them and look for something else. I was in a shop today where this worker told me this story about these speakers too big for me. He suggested to pay me a visit next wednesday and he would bring a couple of RB-3's and a couple of RB-25 II's. Now these speakers are seriously way smaller than the RF5, actually they're bookshelf speakers. Are the RB-3's/RB-25's good speakers for a room of my length? And most of all.. are these speakers good for "surround"? The person that comes next week told me these speakers are perfect for "home cinema" now i am curious if some of you guys think the same way?! He suggested that if i return my RF5's to them, they will give me 4 speakers (RB-3's) in return, would that be a honest trade? I've payed $ 2600 for these suckers! And my next question, WHAT kind of DTS/surround amp would be nice for these speakers? the man told me i need a stereo NAD C 370 amp for $ 999 and then again for an cinema/dts amp another $1500. Now i think this man has $$$ in his eyes, but hey i am just a student and cannot afford such thing. What AV-surround reciever would be nice for Klipsch speaker!?! please name some brands and types!! I just want a little home cinema in this bedroom, so i can watch dvd in good quality but NOT insane amounts of $$$ to pay for.. please help me further with this... thanks! Bram Holland Europe
  18. just being very curious since being a HUGE fan of Klipsch speakers, is it true that the speakers in all Klipsch models are made by themselfs? I mean is every part of the casing (wood) made by the company self or by some other?! hope someone can answer it..
  19. YEAH got my RF5's sunday afternoon and all I can say. WOW it sounds so incredible with my Unico amp. Never heard music this way before :-) Klipsch has done it again, its in the family I guess ;-)
  20. Hey guys! Tomorrow my RF-5's are commin, and cannot wait to hook it up to my Unison Research "Unico" Tube ampliifer. My question, is my amp very suitable for speakers such as the RF-5's? They will be placed in my bedroom (normal sized) and when I heard a couple of RF-7's in the store I fell in love with the sound. The Salesman told me that the RF-5's are a bit smaller but also al lot cheaper :-) Since my dad has the "Original" Klipsch Horns I as a 22yr old, LOVE music, and in a few hours I will have my own pairl of Klipsch :-)
