  1. Thanks John, Would put this L pad just prior to the squawker (after the autoformer)? Also, any idea what the impediance of the squawker is? Thanks again.
  2. I have a pair of Chorus II speakers that I would like to decrease the output of the squawker. The autotransformer does not have multiple taps. Someone recommended an L pad but is there any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  3. I have a pair of Chorus II speakers that I would like to decrease the output of the sqwaker (sp?). The autotransformer does not have multiple taps. Any recommendations on what to do? Thanks in advance. Mike
  4. Thanks both of you for the information and I agree I may need to upgrade my sub. I have a small Definative Technology which is fine for home theater but does not blend very well with the Chorus. I will try the 4 ohm tap this weekend and see how it sounds. Thanks again. Mike
  5. I have a pair of Chorus II speakers that I am trying to mate with a 300B amplifier. The bass is lacking somewhat and another person recommended hooking the speakers up through the 4 ohm winding instead of the normal 8 ohm winding. Does anyone have any knowledge about this? Thanks
  6. Thanks for the recommendation. I will see if there is a dealer in my area. I may also look for some used ones if they are not to expensive.
  7. I have a small room that is about 12X12. I would like a good sounding speaker but I have very little room to install them. I may be asking to much. Mike
  8. I have a pair of Chorus II front speakers and I would like to add some good sounding small rear speakers for surround sound and multichannel SACD playback. What would be my best choice for good sound and still stay fairly small. Thanks
  9. Thanks for the information and you are probably right. I had also read that installing a round rod between the side panels would help stiffin up the case and improve the sound. I did that this last weekend and it did help. I may leave well enough alone regarding the fiberglass. Thanks again.
  10. Thanks for the advise. Did you hear any difference once you installed the insulation? Did you have any foam or insullation in there before installing the new sheets? Did you remove it? Also, do you remember who made the insulation? I may be able to hunt down a distributer in my area. Thanks
  11. Another thought...What about going to a fabric store and buying some of the quilted material they have. I image it comes with a cotton bating with a covering on both sides. Anyone try this? Mike
  12. Jim: Thanks. I have also seen those pictures but have not been able to find it. I tried Home Depot but the thinnest insulation they had was 3 1/2". Hopefully, someone on this forum knows where to get it and how well it worked. Mike
  13. I have seen pictures on this forum where people have lines the inside of their Klipsch speakers with 1/2" fiberglass (?) batting. I can not find any of this material. I have checked the speaker building websights but no luck. Where do you get this material and does it help? I have a pair of Chorus II that I am trying to tweek. Thanks
  14. It is raining today (rare in New Mexico) and I am tweeking my pair of Chorus II speakers. I dampened the woofer and tweeter and that helped considerably. I tried it on the squaker but that killed the midrange. So now I am moving on to the cabinet. Has anyone dampened the inside of their cabinet and what was the results? What did you use?
  15. Yes, I have also rewired the inside of my Klipsch (Chorus II). I had some scrap Audioquest Midnight speaker cable around that I used which really removed a lot of the glare. The cat-5 cables may just need to be broken in or maybe they are just to bright. I also replaced the caps in the crossover with some Jensen Oils and a large Solen. I am not about to experiement with attaching some rope calk to the drivers to see if I can get them up to the next level. Do you have any experience doing this or maybe dampening the inside of the cabinet?
