  1. At first I thought it was an automated response but I filled out a complaint form pertaining to this type of problemm and they answered me and explained to me exactly why I cannot use vendor names in my title. They told me I can use just a couple in the description to help sell the book but none in the title. I told them they were wrong and I would continue fighting them on it, then I gave them a complete list of other sellers that were selling the same book and told them I expect those auctions to be removed also, they have not so that's why I put mine back on. Ebay is supposed to be fun but when they start attacking someone like me with 412 all positive feedback, somethings wrong.
  2. I spend a lot of time reading the great postings on this forum and once in a while I actually post something, but I want to know if anyone else has had this problem. I had an old speaker book for sale on eBay a few days ago, just like one I sold a month ago and just like some others I see on eBay everyday, even titled the ad exactly the same way using the same words. Ebay cancelled my ad for spamming violations because they said I violated their rule about using vendors names in an ad to manipulate searches when you actually don't have a product for sale made by that vendor. Example: I've seen Kodak cameras advertised that say "Kodak 35mm camera not Nikon". They used Nikon to get people to look at their ad that were actually searching for Nikons not Kodaks and I can understand how that is wrong, but my book is about old speakers like Klipsch, EV, JBL, University, Altec etc.. so I put those names in my title. Ebay said one of their VeRO (verified rights owners program)members reported it to them and they had to cancel my auction and threatened me with suspension if I continue to operate auctions in this manner. The only vendor on the VeRO list that I had in my title was Klipsch. Has this happened to anyone else? I relisted it and chamged the wording a little and added the word "about" in the title to show it's about these vendors. Look at the auction and tell me if this is offensive to Klipsch or if you think it violates spamming rules. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5711356871 didn't know how to make a link to it. just copy and paste
  3. hi guys! what and when is the midwest audiofest? i'm also in the chgo area and might be interested in attending. Bernie
  4. They are ElectroVoice T35's with the round magnets. I have some 16ohm and some 8ohm but I would only use the 8ohm in the LaScalas.
  5. There's a guy on ebay selling a lot of T35 voice coils which also fit the K-77 and the EV T350. He's cheaper than EV. I bought 4 of them from him already. They're brand new dated 12/02. Bernie Electro Voice nut!!
  6. Hi Kim, My mids are the K-55M. I have several older alnico EV T35's and was going to experiment with installing them to see if there is any difference. I haven't opened up this set of La Scalas yet to see what woofer is in there.
  7. Thanks to both of you for the info. I had a pair of La Scalas that I sold last summer that had the AA crossovers in them. I should never have sold them. I missed them so much I bought this pair I have now. I thought I noticed a difference in sound but thought it must have been my imagination. Who knows, maybe it is, but I'm pretty convinced after what I've read on this forum that I could get better sound upgrading and getting rid of the ALs.
  8. I've recently purchased a pair of La Scalas and was wondering exactly how old they are. Their serial numbers are 8642663 and 8642647(or maybe A7)? They have the square magnet on the K-77's but mine don't say K-77M as I've read in other posts. Are they the same as the K-77M? I also wanted to know about the crossovers. They are the AL model which I've read here are not known as "the good ones". Which would be a better model and what would that better model do towards creating better sound? If I can improve their sound, and that seems hard to believe since they sound so good already, I will. I already own an Electro Voice Georgian and a Patrician IV, so I can appreciate listening to the best sound possible. Thanks for all your input. This is a very helpful and informative site. Bernie
