I use a Marantz 300 CD file that I am very happy with.It sounds much better to me than my two Pioneer 100 CD files that I ran through a controller.It does not have the detail of my SACD player,but I would characterize it as very good.

If you can put a LaScala under your set,it will raise it about 24".I'm taking my stand out from under mine & inserting a LaS this weekend.It will raise my set a net 3".

My experiences have been mostly good on ebay,Audiogon,& internet sources.I've had more problems with internet vendors.I've saved buying new & used wire on ebay,& I've bought used wire & a preamp on Audiogon.I just listed a Klipsch RC7 in almost perfect condition on Audiogon.

You got a real bargain,Frzninvt.I'm picking up a pair from Dee this weekend for $800.One may have a crossover problem.The squawker doesn't respond,and the speaker does work.They have been modified with volume controls for the tweeter & squawker,which I'll take out or disable.

I've been very happy with the RC7 (between Khorns)for movies,but for multichannel SACD,I've missed the full range.You're right about the improvement in detail, & it will provide a more seamless soundstage.

I'm getting another LaScala to use as a center channel, so I have a black RC7 & its' Omnimount for sale.Excellent condition.Omnimount (black) will hold a 60 lb.speaker.You may choose from my center channel,which is broken-in with about 120-140 hours of use,or one of my rear centers,which have less than 10 hours of use.$475 plus shipping from 71730.
