  1. Al, I do have your crossovers so it sounds like just a tap change on the transformer. Mike
  2. DJK, that's the driver I was planning on using with a 1003B horn on a Klipschorn Bottom end. Thanks to all for the input. Mike
  3. What effect does substituting a midrange driver with an impedance different than the 16 ohm k55's have? What if an 8 ohm or 4 ohm driver is used? I'm trying to see what would need to be done to the crossovers to allow this substitution. Regards, Mike.
  4. That's what I needed to hear. The Heresy's are originally from Michigan (where I'm from) and the humidity there gets to 100% in the summer. I'm more worried about the corrosion that would be inside than outside. I would hate to have to break the original seal (not broken don't fix it) on the can's. I'll just clean up the outside of the can. Thanks!
  5. Sounds to me that if this is an issue (internally) to the cover (i.e., affects the performance of the speaker) that would allow the Zinc Oxide to shed on the diaphragm, then having the covers refinished would be wise. If this is the case, then I would probably powder coat them or nickel plate. My K-horns are 4 years older and there is no issue with corrosion on them.
  6. Has anyone else had corrosion on the cover of their K-77 tweeters? Mine was on the round covers (exterior) of the old Alnico type and was a whitish powder that had build up enough that it was starting to shed it to the top of the horn of the midrange. This was in both my Heresy's that date from 1975. I'm just wondering if the corrosion could also be on the inside also...these have never been opened up. What would be the cause except from the obvious of moisture..these speakers have always been in a controlled environment.
  7. Does anyone know the approximate DC resistance for a properly functioning K77 tweeter? Thanks 1971 K-horns 1975 Brazilian Rosewood Heresy's 1983 Finished LaScala's
  8. Just picked one of these up also. Been looking for a while to get one at the right price. Been a Klipsch fan for more than 30 years. 1971 K-horns 1975 Brazilian rosewood Heresy's 1983 Finished LaScala's Hoot
