  1. I thought I'd never think of selling my JBL L56's, but when doing a comparison to my KG 4.2's there's no way I'll give up the Klipsch, unless it's an upgrade to a larger Klipsch. I think I'll pass my JBLs on to my daughter when she moves out to her first apartment.
  2. Who & what is a SVS sub? Seems like the greatest invention since sliced bread.
  3. Metallica's Load cd, then Led Zeppelin's Stairway To Heaven cd, and then Robin Trower's Bridge of Sighs cd. My downstairs neighbor called me some terrible things. Teach him to play his Cello with his door open!
  4. Does anyone have an a ideal how many 10" woofers I would need to compete with a 15" woofer. My Klipsch kg 4.2s don't have the bass my deceased Pioneer HPM-1100s used to create. More importantly, which Klipsch speaker would compare?
  5. My three-way 15" system is based on the Minimus-7 which is fed through a two-way crossover. With all parts under $200, there's nothing that sounds better.
  6. Are you saying Klipschorhs are made from particle board? That stuff cheap furniture is made from? I hat to think someone would pay $6,000 for particle board.
  7. I know this is a Klipsch BB, and I own a pair of Klipsch, but does anyone know who makes Realistic speakers? I built a 15" 3-way system using all Realistic components. They sound fantastic. Like Klipsch someone must be doing something right at Radio Shack.
  8. I did listen to 1997 k-horns powered by a Carey tube amp. Yes, for 30 watts it was awesome. I couldn't tell if it a had a tube sound at all. Currently my Klipsch kg 4.2s are powered by a Carver C-1 & M-400t combo and sound fantastic. I doubt that when I step up to the Heritage series that I'll change amp. Thanks for the input.

  10. I can't a difference. What am I supposed to be listening for? A dull sound like comparing CDs to LPs? Why spend big $$$$ on a measely 50 - 100 watt tube amp? Is the price differnces between Tube & SS really justified when 100 watts won't power a decent subwoofer?
  11. Hey prodj101, I think you're the first person to stereotype me. Ever! I love rock, classic rock, cool jazz, bebop jazz & instrumental jazz. Classical every once in a while. Besides that, I like any kind of music, as long as I can't hear it! Rap & Hip-Hop are the worse, not because of the skin color of the "muscians", just ****ty sound. It's not really music, just vocal rap (crap).
  12. From reading these posts it seems most people listen to music, not just the components. It seems most people hear seem to be into theaudio gear and not the music. I'm sure I'm wrong, but what type of music do you guys listen to. I hate to think that Heritage series speakers are used to play country, pop, soul music, or rap. Any Led Zeppelin, or Black Sabbath, or Stevie Ray Vaughan fans out there?
  13. How wide should a room be for Klipschorns so there's no lose in the stereo effect? Also, do the K-horns need at least six feet of uninterrupted wall an both sides ot the speaker?
  14. I've left my Carver M-400t & C-1 for two weeks once. Went home on military leave and just forgot to turn it off. I knew something was weird when I came home when I noticed my Lava lamp was still on which is plugged into the back ot the C-1. It was warm!
  15. Anyone have experience with Carver's M-400 amp and Heritage series speakers? A non-tube amp with a horn speaker. I've hand my amp for twenty years with absolutely no problems. Never seems to run out of power and have bottomed out quite a few 15" woofers in the past. I currently run a pair of Klipsch kg 4.2s and they sound great. Any thoughts?
  16. Members talk about bass differences between Cornwalls And LaSaclas. What bass settings are being used, or are your settings at "flat". Or are you guys using pre-amps without tone controls and equalizers. I have a pair of kg 4.2. They don't provide enough bass with the bass turned up but they sound better than most speakers I've heard. I really want to buy a pair of LaScalas but I'm starting to wonder if they'll sound better than my old Pioneer HPM-1100s. What size room is reccomended for a pair of LaScalas?
