I lucked out and got a Klipsch KP-301 used for a few hundred bucks ! Since I have 2 Cornwalls, I figured it would be easier to build a 3rd as my center channel rather than buy a pair and store one (this is my first quasi-build). The components are identical to the CW + Chorus 2 but rated for 400w. I plan on mounting drivers from the front as well! My friend is helping me build these since I’m awful at woodcraft and I need to know the following: 1. Is the woofer on the Corns flush mounted or sunken/recessed? 2. Do the midrange and tweeter horns protrudes or are they sunked/recessed for a flat face? 3. How thick is the grill frame? 4. Below are the plans I’m utilizing. If we cut a hole per the specs, how much of a recessed edge do we need for each component? Any and all help is very appreciated and I’m stoked to show you guys how it turns out!

Wakejunkie is getting ready to begin construction of the new front cabinet wall and this evening, he sent me the final sketchup file that he designed and needless to say, I'm PUMPED!!! The screen will have two hidden latches (similar to door handles on a car) that will release the screen. Gas shocks will hold the screen open. The bottom three middle compartments will be able to slide forward via a 500lb max capacity commercial rail system. This will allow for MUCH easier access to the rear components. The RSW-15 will be moved underneath one of the main LaScalas. Here are the latest renderings from Wake but they do not show the Lighting under the curve and the rear view does not show that the top cabinets will be actual cabinets. -
Greetings everybody! I am looking for an experienced speaker box builder who would be able to build a noteworthy hi fi system strong enough to satisfy a small venue. Cash is ready! I tried looking for some woodwork studios but no have speaker experience, all other hifi systems owners and buidlers that i know stopped building them. Unfortunately my knowledge is not enough to make a top notch hifi hence why i am asking you guys! Big big thanks, hope to hear from you soon! best -
Hello Klipsch Brothers and Sisters, New member here with a question that will surely demonstrate my complete lack of audio knowledge and expertise...but here we go... We have a wonderful home theater audio system that is amazing... RP-280F floorstanders RP-250C center R-51M surrounds R-120SW subwoofer (or used to have...here is where the question comes) Our adopted German Shepherd decided the R-120SW was a big chew toy, and damaged the subwoofers cabinet. Really? Yep. I've heard of cats scratching speakers, Rats, Mice...but a German Shepherd? Well, a 120 pound dog with teeth like a Stihl Chainsaw can do a bit of work in no time. That being said, we were looking at either repairing the damage, or in a moment of brilliance (or indigestion) we wondered if we could remove the driver, amp, and electronics from the R-120SW (which still work perfectly) and use them to build a tapped or folded horn subwoofer. One point toward this is that i'm a journeyman carpenter, and build furniture and cabinets. Have all the tools and materials at hand. The problem was my search for plans and DIY builds were completely bewildering, and it seemed that matching the driver with the horns characteristics is absolutely essential. I'm completely out of my element in that arena. We would greatly appreciate any direction the experts and experienced members here might provide. We love our system but would really dig lower bass, and from what we have read the tapped or folded horn subwoofer, throwing sub 20Hz sound, is out-of-this-world!
