  1. Hi All, New to the forums here and wondering if I could get some advice. Just started putting together my home theater and purchasing speakers as I go. What does this group think I should upgrade or add first, not looking for top of the line, but decent mid-range set up for the basement. Floor plan is pretty open (about 20' x 28') with the theater contained one side. Ultimate goal is a 7.2.4 set up, however the receiver market is pretty rough, so I know ill be looking to replace that eventually. Below are the details of my current set up. AVR: Pioneer VSX-834 L&R: Klipsch R-820Fs Center: Klipsch RP-500C Side Surrounds: RP-600Ms Front Height: RP-500SAs Sub: R-100SW
  2. Hey guys, I just plugged in an RSW-12 sub I purchased from someone along with a pair of R7 Towers and the RC7 Center. It worked great at first, then I noticed that the tower woofers weren't working hard at all and all of the bass was being sent to the sub, which created this compartmentalized bass sound. I decided to dig into the receiver and maybe set the front and centers to "large" and then adjust the crossover to something like 50hz. However, when I did this, the sub was almost silent. After adjusting a few different ways with combinations of large and small along with different frequencies, the sub now just constantly lets out a loud noise all the time. The noise is max volume even at the lowest setting and persists even when the source is disconnected. Any ideas on what is going on here? I have the sub cross over knob at around 70 now, Auto On enabled, and LFE disabled. I'm using a Pioneer Elite VSX-53 amp
  3. Hello, I have seen quite a few people post this issue but have seen no one respond about the issue to get fixed I own the rsb-14 soundbar with sub. There is a constant static noise, hissing sound coming from the 2 outside speakers of the bar. I contacted the dealer and got a new replacement soundbar. Yet still the issue persists?? Any reasons as to why? It happens through the optical and the hdmi-arc input. And the power source in plugged into monster power, power source.
  4. I'm looking for some help. I'm new to the forums here and am relatively ignorant when it concerns to audio quality. My system right now is an Onkyo TX-8050n. I have this connected to a set of Klipsch RB-51 IIs, a pair Bose 301 Series IV, and a Klipsch R-10SWi. The Onkyo is being fed by a Yamaha CDC-645 CD player, a Technics SL-D303 turntable, and a Chromecast audio, among some other items. I use the Chromecast audio quite a bit with an analog connection (therefore relying on the Chromecast's DAC). I've been noticing that when I play the opening track "I was Glad," of Harry Christophers and the Sixteen's album A New Heaven, that I have distortion when the sopranos hit high notes. I listen to a lot of sacred and classical choral music, and there are other times where there is clipping and distortion, usually when the sopranos are belting out some high notes. I don't notice the distortion so much with orchestral music. At first I wondered if this was a Chromecast issue, but I tried the same CD this morning, and the distortion seemed to be even worse! The distortion is (it appears to me) in one of the Klipsch bookshelf speakers. Also, that same bookshelf speaker has a very small dent in the copper speaker (the woofer, right? -- see the photo). What do you think the problem is? Do I need to do something with the tweeter? Do I need to replace the speaker/woofer? Is the problem with my receiver/amplifier? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
