spaceranger01
I just purchased this system from Circuit City:Onkyo TX-SR8062=Klipsch F3’s2= S1’s for surround1=C2 Center1= 12” Synergy Powered SubThe salesman recommended bi-amping the two main speakers. Is this the preferred was of setting this combination up? Thanks Arron
Jack Gvozdjak
I would like to know as well. Is bi-amping more for stero use and good for 5.1 setups too?
tommyboy
I bi amped my F2's and it made a noticable difference. Everything (hi's and lows) in 2 channel, and definitely more bass in HT. I highly recommend bi amping them............. Some other forum members think it's a waste............. but not me![]
Jack Gvozdjak
I think bi-wire is considered a waste not bi-amp although I think bi-amping can be tricky too.
spaceranger01
I ended up bi-amping them and they sound great. I didn't trywithout bi-amping, so I have nothing to compare them too. The idea makes since, and the receiver has the ability to do it. I don’t really have room for the 7.1setup, so it makes since to put thatextra power into the F#’s. Thanks for your help. shortstack31489
how do you biamp speakers? and whats the difference is bi amping and bi wiring?
spaceranger01
From what I have learned, speakers need to have four wire posts before bi-amping is possible. My reciever uses the back surround channels for bi-amping. I connected the front main L&R channel wires to the lower post on my speakers, and then connected the back surround L&R channel wires to the upper posts. This is how the manual that came with my reciever recomended bi-amping. Then I went into the reciever and select bi-amping. I read that bi-wiring is when you connect two sets of wire to the same out put on your reciever. Then make the above connections with those wires. I have not tried this, and I am not sure how it works. Thanks Arron
tommyboy
Yes, you'll need 4 wire posts to do it. And I don't recommend bi-wiring off the same output on your receiver.........
