  1. DLP tvs are a little to dark for my tastes but one that i really like is the HL750 samsungs.....if you can find one of those it is a huge improvement over most dlps because it uses leds as opposed to bulbs. I have been selling tvs for quite sometime now and it is definately one of my favorites. I havent looked in awhile but i assume you can find one for a relatively good price. They used to come in 61" and 67" sizes.
  2. i absolutely love my onkyo 805...i used to have the 606 and i liked it but it didnt have preouts. i havent looked at the 607 but if it doesnt i would jump up to the 7xx series cause once upgraditis hits you will want the option to add an external power amp
  3. so curiosity strikes again and i was curious if anyone has ever tested these bookshelves? i was mostly wanting a comparison between rb-35 and rb-81...i can get some rb-35s alot cheaper but i was curious how they comapre. thanks
  4. Not to be rude by any means but do you know exactly what your doing? You seem to have some awesome gear but do you have everything set up to max performance. Tweaking a receiver can make a world of difference and for the "thump" you are wanting i would upgrade the rw-12d to something a lot larger for your tastes
  5. i am sure that his center is using the third channel....and the sub is self powered and has an amp built in to it
  6. are you trying to connect the quintet iii's to your f-3 fronts? if so it cannot be done. the biwiring is if you wanted to run two separate sets of speaker wire into one terminal on your receiver
  7. Thats what i paid for mine and i thought that was a fair deal. If you are looking at different subs i dont recommend jbl. I have had a couple and they are nowhere in the league of others. You could also check out online retailers like svs, elemental design, and hsu.
  8. has anyone done a head to head on these two speakers? i can get some rf-25s for a good price...any thoughts?
  9. toddvj i was wondering the same thing....seems kinda redundant to have some awesome equipment and have a lackluster tv
  10. one call is a very reputable company and they are an authorized dealer....i personally have heard the 665 and thought it was very nice for ht uses but i have also read that the 663 wins in the head to head comparison between the two
  11. after selling much of my system i still have the f-1s but my question is...would i be better off with f-1s and a c-2 or maybe rb-61s and a rc-52 center...i assume the reference will be better but will it be noticeably better than what i currently have? this is for 100% ht...no music...thanks
  12. i like how we are on a star wars ranking system now....but who will play the sith? polk? paradigm? i was gonna put bose but they arent even worthy of being ewoks
  13. so in my living room i have a cabinet with swinging doors...i have my towers placed to the sides of it but i really have no place for the sub so what i was wondering is can i place the sub behind the door and it still sound alright?
  14. pioneer 1018 owners...does ur amp get hot? i have a second system and i need a receiver that doesnt get hot
  15. i have got one for sale as well....pm me if your curious
  16. yea if i dont turn my fan on my 805 could fry an egg on it...i will have to find something that runs really cool for the living room and use the 805 in my room
  17. yea thats why i will have to leave my onkyo in my bedroom setup....does your yamaha run hot?
  18. so i am trying to convince my parents to let me move some of my speakers in the living room so i can keep part of them...any suggestions on the persuasion?....and if i succeed i will need a reciever that is just shy of 7 inches and will not run that hot...the cabinet space is like 6.8 inches so is there a good receiver that doesnt run very hot? if i can get away with it i will be keeping my fronts and the ss.5 surrounds.....i may have the c-3 sold to a guy on here and i need to get a smaller center for the setup....i am thinking the c-1 maybe? thanks for help guys
  19. thats not really an odd combo...the sub may be a bit extreme for the sl's so you will have to adjust your sub level accordingly..i have never heard the sc-05 but i only hear good things about the icepower amp...and on the stands there is actually a post on here right now actually discussing the topic
  20. does that stand vibrate that is sitting on the sub?
  21. its not about money just dont have the space...i thought about saving them but i figured by the time i had more space i would want reference
  22. so im moving into a different room and i no longer have room for my large speakers so i am going to have to downsize...it saddens me but i have no choice....so i will post some of my stuff in the garage sale section
  23. you could go with either one but i would go with the rb-61s because evntually you will want an all reference system whether you realize it or not...i have only had my speakers a few months and i am getting very curious about upgrading
  24. apparently its growing amongst our age...im only 20 and i am addicted
  25. i think that is a good system but i think if u look online you can find a better deal on the whole system...i have never heard the rw-10d but i have the rw-12d and i love it...denons setups are tricky at first but if have any questions about it just post them on the forum and we will help you...last but not least i would spring for a receiver that has preouts to add an external amp...you may not think you need one right now but eventually you will be struck by upgrade bug and will want more ample sound
