Clay270
With a bit of research and thanks to everyones input I have decided to purchase the 3 series (F3 sides, C3 Center, S3 Rears). I found the F3's at hhgregg, and the C3 at Vanns. However, I am having problems locating an authorized dealer selling the S3 (rears). Everywhere I look the answer turns up as "discontinued". Is/was there an issue with these? Anyone know where I can find S3's (reasonably priced)? If necessary, can I mix the S2's in with the F3's and C3? Jack Gvozdjak
Any luck finding a pair? I'm in the same boat. Not sure why you can still get he F3 and C3 so easly but not the S3...sigh...
tommyboy
No one seems to be able to find the S3's. But S2's are easily found and will blend great with the other 3 series speakers.......
Clay270
Will the S2's suffice or should I opt for the B3's (to match up with the F3's and C3)?
Jack Gvozdjak
I think the S2's would be 'ok', With a 5.1 setup the B3's should be fine. That's what I'm going to do if I can't find the S 3's to complete my 7.1 setup...sigh... I'll have the F3 in the front, C3 in the center, B3 in the rears, then S3 (hopefully) on the sides. SUB 12 for the bass effects/low notes. []
tommyboy
The S2's will be more than ok. I wouldn't recommend bookshelves for sides. Use WDST speakers, (S2) as sides, and bookshelves for rear surrounds. If you go to THX.com, the pro's can explain it to you!
