jtkinney
I found this today. Should I go for it? I don't know anything about it yet. Jim
boa12
i recall somewhat hearing that uld at the dealer. nowhere near the slam of the hgs series - 400W rms vs 1250 rms. i'd be afraid it's not loud enough to go w/ any bigger klipsch. good price though if it's new(er). u can check it out under products=>previous " at www.velodyne.com ------------------ My Home Systems Page
jtkinney
Thanks Boa, Someone is selling them in the company paper, I haven't seen or heard them. I don't have $900 right now anyway, but if they were a smokin deal, I might scrape it up. Jim
TheEAR
The ULD18 is a great sub,for $900 if its in great condition and perfect working order its a sure bet. It may not take on the HGS18(not many can)but it does bring clean bass and good output home.I wanted one of these when I started in audio a few years back, the damn Velo was too expensive and at the time I was more into Paradigm Atoms and inexpensive NHT subs. Its plenty for most rooms.Check if it was not repaired, some Velodyne amps fail and take trips to the repair shop.Dont buy a repaired Velo. Its may be the start of many problems.I know since a HGS10 I was testing(err torturing with GIGA BASS) died on me. Lucky it was a borrowed unit from the store TheEAR(s) Now theears
