Allstarmike Posted February 5, 2009 Share Posted February 5, 2009 Hi guys I know of some people that use something like a lead shot and sand mix in the base of there speakers to make the bass sound better has anyone tried this in any klipsch products and would you recommended it ,I know that with some high end speakers they can come with up to 100 lb of lead in the base of them,, how and why does it help ? ,,I'd be scared that the sand could get into the voice coil or something but then again I don't know much about this and this is why I ask :-) Thanks in advance ! Fairly inexpensive, and you can take them out, put them in stacks, and generally fool around with them as you see fit. You can also put them on K'horn K-400 horns to reduce ringing if the horn has that problem, etc. They have lots of uses when you are not using them for diving.
