michael hurd
WSU: some of the EP2500's have wrong silk screening on the rear of the unit, this has come up before. Check the manual if you have one, if not, download from the Behringer website.
wsu99999
Michael - Thanks so much for the hard work! I appreciate the help. I'm hoping the 2200 adds some voltage and that is the issue with the amp.

Let me know if I'm right or wrong, I'll drink one either way
wsu99999
It was a voltage issue. Now - wow! I knew I had everything hooked up right The voltage from the 2200 is enough to get a solid signal to the amp I guess, only thing I can figure. THANK YOU ALL so much!! michael hurd
So does it work? [] There should be quite a noticeable difference from the other enclosure you had, especially in music that has a lot of ~30 - 35 hz info.
CECAA850
Awesome!!!!
wsu99999
Yeah, the difference is night and day. Now, I need a better subwoofer because this thing can litereally blow the sub out of the box. When I maxed out the gain on the amp and turned up the gain on the 2200, I could see how easily the right note would make the speaker explode!! The guy that built the box for me is a speaker manufacturer. I want you guys to look him up, his company is Pierce Audio Group. Mainly they do car stereo stuff, but he is building me a custom 15" sub that can handle the bridged power of the 2500 as well as go down to 10hz (supposedly). I went to his workshop and it was quite impressive. Much more impressive than the subs on his website are the custom models he makes. He has a lot of HT stuff not listed. I will let you know the results of the new subwoofer when I get it. Thanks for everything!
michael hurd
The Pierce family builds a lot of stuff mainly designed for car audio, but that doesn't mean that their subs can't work for HT. Actually, the 18" MOAB looks pretty decent, but needs a BIG box.
michael hurd
Picture of the backside of a brand spanking new Acoustic Elegance AV12X, all 40 pounds of it, 2.5" coil motor that will take a KW thermally, with very low inductance from full copper sleeve on the pole piece. 4 layer flat wound alu wire coil, 22 mm of xmax, and a strong 5052 aluminum cone and dustcap round out this unit. hobie1dog
I'm a Ficaraudio guy myself. Here's a pic of my 10" Q. Scott at FI did a great job of copying the desiign of another famous subwoofer on that one.[]
CECAA850
Scott at FI did a great job of copying the desiign of another famous subwoofer on that one. Which sub would that be?
hobie1dog
Scott at FI did a great job of copying the desiign of another famous subwoofer on that one. Which sub would that be? Look familiar? Out several years before he made his version....unfortunately there are so many woofers out there ,that all of them are so close in design paramaters and cosmetics (since they put woofers together using parts from the same place.)....The days of going to the trouble to patent speakers are almost over... I'm not going any farther with this and stir up any crap.
michael hurd
That is some DEEP corrugations in the spider. If I had to guess... I would say Brahma? The basket is an open tool frame, and there have been / will be many iterations built on that platform.
CECAA850
I was going to guess TCSounds????
michael hurd
Nah, the TC 1000 that used that basket never had a motor with that much steel. The only other guess is maybe RE. See TC 1000 15" pic for reference.
michael hurd
TC 2000, 3000, 4000, 5200 and 5400 used different baskets, all proprietary to TC. This is a TC 2000:
CECAA850
Here's a TCCounds TC7. I think they made a TC9 that looked similar also.
michael hurd
Ah, yes I forgot that the TC7, TC9 were built on that open tool basket, maybe because I don't own one of either... LOL. D'oh.
wsu99999
OK - Question for Michael and the rest - What other sub could I drop into my current setup that could handle more watts and that would produce more output. The dvc is loud, and sounds good, but I know I can get more. Do I need to go up to a 15, or is there a 12 on the market that will get the job done?
