iTide
I am preparing my walls for the mounting of some RS-25s, that I have yet to purchase. I want the RS-25s because of their size and also they match my RF 25s. I am going to hang them using the screw method. Here is my question. How far down is the keyhole for the screw from the top of the speaker? Also, are there two keyholes or just one? Are the speaker wire terminals centered on the back of the speaker. I suppose it would help to buy them first and do exact measurements but wife is ready to paint now. I need to get everything patched up. I don't really need exact measurements, just close. I know this is asking a lot but if someone has one they could post a picture of, that would be very helpful. Thanks
InVeNtOr
i think you are making it harder than it is. all you need is 1 screw and ancor kit. paint your walls and when you are ready to hang the speaker, all you need to do is drill 1 1/4" hole, screw in the ancor and then screw in the screw. i hung all my rs-42's with the same screw/ ancor kit. works great. iTide
You are right, I am way too picky. I always have been. I made sure I put a stud exactly where the speakers would be so I would be able to sleep at night knowing they were secure.
alkemyst
They are lighter than most picture frames and esp. mirrors standard 1/4" wall anchor in good drywall is overkill even. If you really want to stud the wall do horizontal studs and not worry about the vertical spacing. the bottom can be secured with just a standard anchor then since it's not bearing any weight (not sure if the RS-25's have two keyholes or one, I have a set coming to me though that I can check in a few days.
