  1. I have the RW-12 and my whole family loves it. Sure, there are better subs out there but come on, it is only 250.00. I don't believe there is anything around that price that can come close to it. How can you go wrong. If I could find one for that price I would get it just to have a backup:-)
  2. Ha, sorry about that Smokarz, I got the Panny S2. My Samsung is the 630.
  3. I could not decide between the Samsung LCD and the Panasonic Plasma. So, I ended up getting one of each. I got the Samsung for the bedroom and the Panasonic for the basement. There is without a doubt, no comparison between the two. The plasma has the best picture. Don't get me wrong, the Samsung LCD is great, and we love it. But, the Panasonic has the best picture. Do not worry about burn in or image retention. I was also concerned about the power consumption and heat, but it is a non issue. The tv stays nearly as cool as the lcd. The new plasmas are awesome.
  4. Well, I called Klipsch and ordered a new rw12 driver. It came in 2 days. I pulled the old and put in the new and it is like a totally different sub. This is my first sub so I thought I was happy before. Wow that driver must have had some issues. My rw12 is unbelievable now. It sounds perfect. Best of all I felt Klipsch was VERY fair with their price and shipping. Very happy now.
  5. Yes it is smooth. I don't know how to explain what is rattling. If you look at the copper driver. The center piece that is like glued in place is what is rattling. I can put my finger on it lightly and it stops rattling. I just don't know. It is not awful, but I can hear it all over the room. Once I hear it, I can't ignore it. Kind of a bummer.
  6. I have been hearing a rattle in my sub for a little while and it is getting worse. So last night after the movie I decided to take a closer work. I listened all around and decided it was either the driver or something behind the driver. So I took the driver out and held it in my hand and turned the sub on. It is definitely the driver. It seems to be the center metal piece that is making the noise. You know where the center copper is glued to the outer copper piece. I don't know what the terms are. I can put my finger on the center of the sub and it stops. It does it at high levels and low levels. What are my options? Will Kliipsch sell me a replacement driver? Would another driver fit and sound good? I don't know what to do but this rattle is driving me nuts. Thanks
  7. I have my HT setup running and am 99% happy with it. However, I need the extra 1%. I am not hearing the surrounds the way I had hoped. I am running RF25, RC, 25 and RS25. How do you all have your surrounds set up? Should I raise the volume level of the surrounds? Don't get me wrong, I hear the surrounds but just not as much as I was expecting. I suppose I could turn them off and then I would realize how much I do hear them. But anyway, I was just wondering if there was a general rule for the volume levels of the surrounds compared to the other speakers. Thanks
  8. Congrats! I have had mine setup for a few weeks now and I am soooo pleased with the sound. The clarity is there with Klipsch, should be no problem.
  9. I have had mine about a month now, and could not be happier. It was easy to set up. I would be shocked if you were disappointed in it or regretted your purchase. It is so easy and makes for a clean coffee table, the other four remotes are in a drawer now! As a matter of fact, my wife wants another for our bedroom. If the wife likes it enough to get another, you know it has to be great.
  10. This is what I have: RF25 RC25 RS25 RW12 I purchased all of these used around a year ago. They were purchased from different individuals but I made sure every piece was mint, not one scratch. I gave $1,100 for all including shipping charges. That being said take off the shipping and the difference between the RF25 and RF15 as well as the RW12 and RW10 it looks like jrod is right on target.
  11. Well, sorry I was a little late with this. I picked up the Sony BDP-BX57 from Sam's Club. It is the same unit as the 570 but packaged for clubs and a little more than 50.00 cheaper and an HDMI cable thrown in. It is awesome. Great picture, nice upscaling, and wireless. It has all the options including pandora, slacker, and netflix. It has great reception as well. It is in the basement and my router is upstairs and it gets a full signal. Never has dropped the connection. Great unit for anyone else that may be looking.
  12. Just thought I would pass this on to you guys. I just picked one up for myself.
  13. I have been looking at the ROKU box for a while now. They do look nice, and the price is right. However, I have just about decided to wait another month or so and check out the Boxee Box. The Boxee Box is supposed to be very nice. Kind of an odd shape but I can live with that if the content is there.
  14. I was wondering the same thing, what looks cheesy? I must have missed something. I have gone back several pages and can't find what he is talking about. Ohiopatriot, were you not happy with your RF25 mains? Or, just found the opportunity for a change? I don't have mine totally set up yet. I am excited to see how they sound all set up in the room.
  15. Thanks, I will be buying one in the next few weeks. They look so nice.
  16. Hey Bruce, found it shocking to see someone on the forum from the same town as me. Not too many of us on here from LaFayette.
  17. I will do some searching and see if I can't find the V series. I don't believe anyone in my area would carry that series but I have a trip to Atlanta planed in the next couple of weeks and I am sure I can find it there. Thanks for the info.
  18. I went tonight and checked them all out at the local store again. I have looked and looked and compared. I just love the look of the Plasmas in the store. May be crazy but I believe it is less tiring on my eyes. I am looking at the panasonic s1 series but that super thin Samsung is so nice. I believe it is the 860 or something like that. Thanks again for all of the replies.
  19. Thanks guys for all of the feedback to my question. To add another aspect to this thread, what do you all know about the SquareTrade extended warranty program. I know, there are many that believe the extended warranties are a complete waste of money. I too believe they are and that I will probably never need one. However, the SquareTrade warranty seems to be reasonable at less than 100 for the model I am looking at. At that price I am thinking I might sleep a little better at night knowing I am covered if something happens.
  20. Yes, I have heard that from a source or two, but I am not sure. I was watching a show on the 2010 CES and the reporter said that for 2010 that all tvs came in under some new electricity usage guideline. You will have to forgive me, I don't remember what it was called exactly but they made a big deal about the plasmas being so energy efficient for the coming year. Makes me think they may be getting it under control.
  21. Let me run this by you all. Have any of you ever noticed any burn in with your plasmas? I know it is not a huge issue anymore but just wondering if you have ever had any worries with your older models. I am not a gamer but if I happened to get a system someday should I be worried about burn in after playing a couple of hours. I don't expect to ever get one but just incase.
  22. Thanks Kain, that is exactly what i am looking for.
  23. I am doing my research on Plasma and LCD tvs. I am leaning toward a Panasonic Plasma for the basement and an LCD for the bedroom. That way I can give them both a try. I would love to hear from people that have had a plasma for a few years and see how you feel about it. Do you still feel it is as bright as new? Who has the oldest? Just curious what you all have. Thanks
  24. DJ, what stand are you using in the pic? Thanks
  25. So, I will just use the 16 gauge since I want notice any difference in sound. I didn't figure I would at only 10 feet or less away from the amp. Thanks for the reply.
