Mallette
Just heard from Maestro George Ellis Mims, PhD, Conductor, Composer, Arranger, Organist, and heckuva nice guy that he will attend the Donnybrook Saturday. I've asked him to bring a copy of his retirement special organ recital played on the 82 rank Schoenberg in the magnicent acoustics of St. Martins Church in Houston, but I failed to tell him he'd be leaving without it. [6] I am also going to put him through the "Challenge" and will report the results for him. That should be interesting. George has commitments later so he'll be arriving around 1:00, so come early if you want to meet him. He's played some of the great instruments in the world and accompanied Kathleen Battle, amongst many other things. George is a devoted Heresy man and has never heard Klipschorns(!). That's probably the real reason he's coming. Please respond in the Donnybrook thread if you do so. Dave
