Synergy Home Theater Speaker Wire Gauge

Recommended Posts

I just purchased the F-3 home theater (F-3's, C-2, S-2's and SUB-12) and I am not 100% sure what gauge speaker wire and connectors to use in my install. I don't plan on bi-wiring the F-3's btw. I have an Onkyo TX-ST706 (100 watts per channel) and I was thinking of using 14 gauge wires (rear surrounds require about 30 ft). Also, I was going to use banana connectors. Do banana connectors seem like the best option to you guys?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

14 gauge is fine. I would say even 16 gauge would work in your case

The banana plugs will work well with the front speakers but I do not know about the surrounds. Unless you are going to use mounting brackets and not mount them flush will the wall they will stick out to far

Just a thought
