Schmidty
I just got a pair of KLF 30's that I traded for RF-5's. I am having A LOT of trouble with the magnets on the KLF 30s. I have them in my bedroom (not that big) and they have to be at least 3 feet away from my TV or it makes it purple and green. I researched it on the net at bought 4 feet of foil for $80. It helps very little. I would have to spend well over $500 to make it okay. Is there anyway to do this for little money? Mlstrass
I've heard the Klipsch magnets are about $125 a set. For Boa or anyone else who has installed them, how do they compare to the ones from Parts Express?? www.partsexpress.com search for part# 249-325 These almost seem too inexpensive to work, but ya never know. TIA...Mike
Schmidty
So Boa or anyone who has done this, would a $.60 BUCKING CANCELLATION MAGNET from parts express work? Would two of them on each magnet work? Thanks, Schmidty ------------------ My first setup Fronts----KLF 30's Center----RC-3 II Receiver--JVC RX-9010V Rears-----Quintets Sub-------RSW 12 soon! Mlstrass
Someone on the HomeTheaterForum did mention glueing 2 of them together for larger drivers, so perhaps these could work. Still want to hear from someone who as actually seen/used the Klipsch version. How do they compare in size??
boa12
i blindly went w/ klipsch so never checked the PE versions. if they're the same size i'd say go for it. they're pretty much a commodity. i did every mag on the 30s just to get it over with. you may want to just do the 4 woofs & see how that works. beware if u do the tweeter horns u'll have to file the holes some to get 'em back in. they worked great. once my sony tube redegaused itself, no more color distortion. yea call trey at 1-800-klipsch for help. i just used the "Instant Epoxy" from Home Depot. if those don't work completely you can also put on shielding cups, which i believe klipsch also sells. i have no direct experience w/ those though. ------------------ My Home Systems Page
