MikeSt
Has anyone tried a 4 channel pro amp in the home? I have a set of Heresys and KG4's I'd like to hook up to one. I don't know what brand/model sounds best either.
Coytee
Perhaps not the answer you're looking for but I've had a dbx BX1 as well as a dbx BX3 in my home. I sold the BX1 but still own the BX3. Both of them are configurable to 2,3 or 4 channels. I used them at one time for my Jubilees and might again. I liked them both however, the BX1 had an advantage in that it didn't have a fan like the BX3 does (which I've had come on). If I make a HT downstairs with 2 Jubilees (biamped) and 3 LaScalas (potentially biamped) I could need as many as10 channels of amplification. I currently have 12 channels of amplification however 2 of them don't fully count. I'm keeping this BX3 in case I do something like this downstairs. I could even use the BX3 alone, to power the 3 LaScalas if I keep them with their current passives. BX3's go for moderate expense on ebay, I think I've seen them under $400?? I don't pay a lot of attention so I could be wrong on that. Just a thought.
