sentinel
The v.2-400's are THX certified?? You would think that the speaker wires would be at least 16 gauge for as long as they made them. I assume THX certification just pertains to the speaker architecture but better wires would definitely have improved the overall sound. Keep pushing Amy! I am not going to argue about speaker wire theories but for longer runs it is better to have lower gauge wiring which also helps prevent interference (especially near all the power lines used by a PC). The long (high gauge & weak shielding) wires supplied for each satellite definitely hinder the Klipsch's performance. Has anyone tried to just splice (properly) better speaker wires to the mono plugs? What I am going to do is cut about 2 inches from each plug and splice (solder or male-female) better wires to the 4 plugs making sure for proper polarity.....Any ideas? rol1
If you splice onto the same plugs you will have to leave something to solder to. That would seem to defeat the purpose of using a larger gage wire. Go to Radio Shack and spend $7 for fresh plugs.

Moderators Amy Posted February 28, 2001 Moderators Share Posted February 28, 2001 I'll keep pushing. I'll tell you what would help... Everybody who wants to see the next version of the Pros have better speaker wire and/or see Klipsch make upgraded speaker wire with the jacks already connected available on our site for a small $, send me an email, and I'll forward it on to TPTB!! Put "Speaker Wire" in the subject field. Amy promediatech@klipsch.com
