derik
I'm starting an ht system in my very small bedroom. I'm trying to decide between the sf1's or the sb1's. Would the difference be more than just cosmetic? I think the sb1's would look good on some nice stands. Please give me your opinions. Thanks. PhilH
derik: Posting your question in the Home Theater section would get a bunch of responses, but here is my input. The SF-1 has a larger woofer and a bigger cabinet (being a floor speaker). This gives it more bass than the SB-1. It also uses an aluminum high frequency driver vs. the polymer one on the SB-1. This will give, generally, more defined high frequencies, especially at louder volumes (and it can handle more wattage). The SF-1 is also a bit more efficient, meaning it will be louder than the SB-1 with the same input power. If cabinet size (or appearance) is an issue, the SB-2 would be a closer sonic match to the SF-1. PhilH
