ursus
Well, i need to buy a new cd player, but my budget its too tight, (in fact i´m using an F-2 with a very old Technics which i want to change , but not now,) my choices are: marantz CD-5003 nad C-515 cambridge audio 340-C the prices are very close, so ,what do you think ? i hear troubles about NAD is that true? my best option (i think) is the NAD or the CA(same price), the marantz is $100 above (i dont know why but i think that the marantz its the best option i´m wrong) after read a lot of forums like these, most people say C.A but in other forums say Go HANDS DOWN WITH NAD soooo i´m really confused--- the problem (i have to say) , i cant make an audition , only marantz (i´m actually living in Costa Rica) can you heeeeelp meeeee? Don Richard
A lot of folks around here, me included, have had good success with the OPPO players. They are universal players and will handle almost anything you put in them. I have the 980, they are 169 USD. OPPO sells mostly factory direct so you shouldn't have any trouble getting one. Do a forum search for more info.

The Oppo also has a variable output which when using with older receivers, gives remote volume control... very nice. Also plays HDCD, SACD, DVD-Audio and is a stunning DVD video player. Plus their speedy delivery and excellent packaging are rare at ANY price.
joshnich
Agree that the oppo is a great value. Not sure what price you are looking at for the 340 C from what I see they go for around 350.00. Right now you can pick up a cambridge 640C which normally retails at I believe 650.00 for 349.00. http://www.spearitsound.com/Cambridge_Audio/cambridge_audio_640cv2.asp Josh
Vital
I just bought this CD player a few months ago and love it! After reading the reviews it has beaten several very high end CD players in different shoot outs. http://emotiva.com/erc1.shtm
