How do you like the "new"Sony VW11?

What else have you compared it to?

A friend had the VW10HT and while it was very easy to set up and play with we never liked the washed out look on the blacks as compared to the LT150 NEC DLP.

The NEC was not the beats for noise and features, but the picture was great.

I have read very good things about the VW11,just wanted your opinioncwm35.gif

TIA,

Steve

Well, the contrast level is GREATLY improved from the VW10HT and as well as the screendoor effect. The problem with some DLPs is that the rainbow effect can be there, secondly, some people get head aches or such after 10-15 mins from a DLP projector.

Be the way, the only real good projector available here was the Sony VPL-VW11HT so I didn't really have much of a choice. I don't currently have it set up in my home as I don't have the rest of my Home Theater yet, but I did see it in the Sony showroom and it looked nice.

DLP vs LCD is mainly perference. Some people like LCD where as some people like DLP. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. But I can tell you that HDTV on this projector looks stunning. cwm35.gif

Thanks, keep me posted about it after you get it up and working.

I know about the rainbow effect and for the 3 or 4 movies I had the NEC set for, there were none with that particular one.It did need an HTPC to make it perfict and if the VW11HT looks good without any"out"side help from a doubler or other expensive processor then it might be what I'll look into down the road.

Many people say that the VW11HT's deinterlacer is better than most progressive scan DVD players. So, the picture is better using an interlaced DVD player than a progressive scan DVD player with the Sony VPL-VW11HT. Smile.gif
